Not a Lakers or Hornets fan but I am good at reading.
The last line Pelinka says here is the important one.
"We've vetted the injuries he's had and we're not concerned about those. "
Now, the key piece of information here is Pelinka isn't worried about any past injuries Mark Williams has had.
However, it doesn't mean something else didn't get flagged on the physical which wasn't part of directly related to a previous injury.
I think that's why the Lakers ended up moving on from Mark Williams. They found something else which regarding Mark Williams body, it raised a red flag as it wasn't related to a previous injury, and thus a failed physical.
Unfortunately we likely won't be hearing about it as I don't think teams typically leak information about a players red flag publicly.
Mark was averaging 25 minutes a night and even played 30 plus minutes right before the trade. After the trade, Rob mentioned that their doctors had vetted Mark for all his old injuries and didn't suggest that the Hornets had withheld any information. However, 72 hours later, without Mark having played a single minute in that time, they supposedly discovered an injury severe enough to nullify the trade.
