On a night when Tatum passed Jo Jo White and Dave Cowens on the all time Celtics scoring list, he was appropriately super. (He's not up to Cowens' peak level yet though.)

Kornet has never played a better game. In Yoda speak, "Impressed I am."

Pritchard has become a higher form of being who should not be able to do what he does.

Tatum wouldn't have gotten 40 without multiple blockhouse picks set by Queta. Queta's fallen off on rebounding from last year which is one reason he got benched. Last night though, Neemias both sprung shooters outside and moved his feet while grabbing boards down low.
If he stays active and decisive, this game is his floor. He can do this every time if he just keeps the motor going.
Three things Queta did that showed growth: sprinted back on D, hit the hook shot for 2, and had the no-hezi pass to Hauser in the corner for a wide open 3 (which missed).

Derrick White being Derrick White is appreciated. He was missed when he was someone else.

IMO Baylor Scheierman is not a Hauser replacement. Instead his goal is to become an XL Pritchard. He moved his feet well on D in his short stint. Like Pritchard from the recent past, that end of the floor will make him or break him.

While no one was paying attention JD Davison has been wowing for Maine. Last night he had 36 points. The game before, a 28-10-10 triple double. He might not succeed, but he'll get a shot in the NBA somewhere next year, maybe even Boston.

Nice breakdown. Yeah Baylor is a solid ball handler, XL and slow Pritchard. He does have some NBA skills though. JD…with the Celtics? I think it could happen if they need to make a cost saving trade (Jrue).

His name got dragged plenty in the game thread. But yeah, not his finest performance. His main defensive assignment went off for 36 points, he took too many tough shots, and had a couple of untimely turnovers. Most of his teammates played really well that it didn't matter in the end.

So disingenuous. There has not been one game that Brown has played poorly where there wasn’t a lot of comments about it. Unless you didn’t take one look into the game thread, you couldn’t miss it, but I think you know that anyway. Brown even gets crap when he plays well, but the team doesn’t get the win because Tatum (usually, but also others) don’t play well. The noise is going to get louder now that White has found his groove again.

Hopefully JB will find his way, but I’m going to enjoy the ride either way, I already said the board needs the people who talk ish about some players. It gets very boring when everyone is cheering and happy, more than a week anyway (chip celebrating). What is there to debate if we all agree? I have been very entertained by comments this year, before the season I thought it was going to be quiet after the chip, I’m glad that didn’t happen. Well, I do miss some posters. I’m glad JB and to a lesser extent Tatum, have kept the discourse going… they can’t satisfy some no matter what they do. Can’t have the board going too soft, it’s already a feat to get convo going when the Celtics play well, we lost a lot of posters, keep the comments flying (within rules).

This isn’t solely about or to you, we lost a bit, but there are still a good number that join in on the festivities.

Missed this game entirely with stuff going on but did just note that Kornet had a 14/12 line with 3 blocks and no turnovers on 7/7 FG which is just a crazy efficient display of basketball.

Also hadn’t seen that from Davison, always appreciate these knowledgeable updates. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he gets a major league deal in that 15th roster spot at the last second, of the 4 year rookie second round option-laden variety.

BS's strengths are not the same as Hauser as you suggest. BS does have more play-making potential for sure. But no matter what he will still have to shoot at a respectable clip to make a dent as a rotation player. But with Walsh, Peterson and himself waiting in Line and 2 more draft picks coming (as of now) I just wonder if he will even get a "Real Chance" to prove himself. I'm still a big believer that short stints and inconsistent playing-time make it near impossible to shine. I mean look at JD Davidson. He is ripping up the G League for about 2 years and hasn't played a Single rotation minute in 3 years or so..

The Lakers are without a balanced lineup now that Williams trade got reversed.

Dallas and GSW got better.

Lakers would have gotten better if Williams was a Laker.

Don't underestimate the Mavs.

Not convinced Dallas got better.

They can preach defence but at the end of the day their backcourt is Klay and Kyrie. You’re not an elite defence with them on the court. Offensively we have 14 years of evidence that Kyrie ain’t a number one option.

Golden State may improve but they’re still short a few players of being a contenders

They also got Christie, Dinwiddie and Marshall. These dudes can ball.
