This gives merit to a very specific theory that only a few Mavs fans pointed out. The new owners, who are known Trump supporters and donors, as well as Nico Harrison, who was involved with US basketball for his whole carreer, just couldn't stand to have a European guy as the face of the franchise. Especially not in Texas. ( As opposed to Mark Cuban who never had a problem with that.)

(+ now that Luka is gone Nico can claim that he built this team from scratch. Unless I am wrong Dwight Powell is the only remaining Mav that was not brought in by Nico.)

The full reasoning on why Luka Doncic got traded from the Mavs according to Dumont

Dumont made it clear to The News that he, too, is a big believer in culture, and in specific traits the Mavericks want in players.

“In my mind the way teams win is by focus, by having the right character, by having the right culture, and having the right dedication to work as hard as possible to create a championship-winning outcome,” Dumont said. “And if you’re not doing that, you’re going to lose.”

Dumont’s tone again turned forceful.

“If you look at the greats in the league, the people you and I grew up with — [Michael] Jordan, [Larry] Bird, Kobe [Bryant], Shaq [O’Neal] — they worked really hard, every day, with a singular focus to win,” he said. “And if you don’t have that, it doesn’t work. And if you don’t have that, you shouldn’t be part of the Dallas Mavericks.

“That’s who we want. I’m unwavering on this. The entire organization knows this. This is how I operate outside of basketball. This is the only way to be competitive and win. If you want to take a vacation, don’t do it with us.”

It was pointed out to Dumont that when people read those comments, the assumption will be he is inferring that Doncic did not fit those winning culture qualities.

“Look, I think there’s a lot of things that come into play when you decide the roster of the team,” Dumont said. “And culture is very important. That’s what we’re focused on.”

Dallas owneeship and FO are making it really hard to support a team they are in charge of.
We remember Nico Harrison going into 22/23 season with these players as starters, Spencer Dinwiddie, Reggie Bullock and Javale McGee, most of the roster was either vet min or out of the league the year after, this was malpractice magnitudes of order bigger than drinking beer.
Nick Harrison thought giving 35 y/o journeyman Javale McGee 3 years deal was the solution to Mavs rebounding and rim protection numbers.
Nico Harrison watched the Mavs go to the WCF and lose their 2nd best player, a guard, leave in FA, and claim Frank Ntilikina will fill for him.
Multiple stretches where Luka had to carry G leaguers, or hobbled players like KP to get him into shape.

I'm 100% convinced at this point that this was something manufactured by the league, and they have been gaslighting us with propaganda for years around Luka's health.

I also find it hard to believe in a league that idolizes street culture, promotes it, and actively engages with it on a game to game basis, has an issue with Luka's partying. I just find it strange that a lot of his peers can party all night, get a bottle at the strip club after a game, and that is something w promote, but Luka having a beer after a game is someone messed up? It literally boggles my mind how we can make jokes about how HOU, LA, and MIA get all the FA's because they have a lot of strip clubs and night life activities, but partying when you're Luka is such a no no

If I have to hear one more time how Luka hits a Hookah in the offseason in a league where the majority of dudes are smoking a QP a day is just...Again, it's mind boggling how far reaching they are with all this stuff

I know a lot of us really like a good conspiracy theory, but maybe they didn’t like the way Luka carried himself as far as conditioning. This is the owner talking now. Also we don’t know what happened behind the scenes. I’m glad he’s a Laker, though I miss AD. Europe has also been a lot more critical of Israel in committing genocide against Palestinians than USA. And the new Mavs owners are hard-core Zionisits. So it makes sense that they wouldn't want a European to be the face of franchise.
