Yikes. There was no need to be this specific. Better that the public think you're dumb than confirm you're a bad boss.

You don't get Luka because he is athletic, you get him because of his talent.
They're criticizing a genius for being slightly overweight and saying he'll never amount to anything. The superficiality on display is astounding. In another context these would be parents from hell.

All the Mavericks fans should vent their frustrations but ultimately the Mavericks success will be the best way to assess this move.
Mavericks look good defensively with Davis and if they continue to do well and get far in the playoffs, the fans will forget and forgive.
The owners, the ones with the billions, access to daily information and the ones who see every thing are more than welcome to make the move they deem best for their business.
Luka is a great, but ultimately I think most logical fans are angry because Mavericks didn't fleece Lakers.
Mavericks should have received minimum 3 first round picks without protection along with Davis.

The only way Mavs justify this is
A) Mavs win a title with AD while Luka never wins a title
There no B or C ot any other scenario
First time Luka wins a ring..this will be forever worst trade in Mavs history..100 years after Nico and owners are dead..still then

I don't care if he didn't even attend a practice:
The dude last year averaged 34, 9 and 10 on very efficient 49%fg and 38%3fg percetages...video game numbers that exceed even the best offensive season that Lebron has ever had
He then had an unbelievable playoff showing and led his team to the finals.
Mind boggling.

Even if the trade benefits the team we all know it's very short term with an crazy small window of maybe 2-3 years.
AD and Kyrie are both injury prone and over the age of 30. We know that Kyrie doesn't excel as the primary scorer in the playoffs and plays best with another ball dominant offensive player like Lebron or Luka.
The West is stacked all around.
Luka at 25 gives you at least a 10 year window of being a legitimate threat.

If you want leadership Anthony Davis, Kyrie Irving and Klay Thompson are the ones to call.

AD in his first game already suffered his first (not serious) injury as Maverick..

This gives merit to a very specific theory that only a few Mavs fans pointed out. The new owners, who are known Trump supporters and donors, as well as Nico Harrison, who was involved with US basketball for his whole carreer, just couldn't stand to have a European guy as the face of the franchise. Especially not in Texas. ( As opposed to Mark Cuban who never had a problem with that.)
(+ now that Luka is gone Nico can claim that he built this team from scratch. Unless I am wrong Dwight Powell is the only remaining Mav that was not brought in by Nico.)
Btw. There is very interesting analysis of the whole statement on Mavs reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/Mavericks/comments/1ilesur/mavericks_governor_patrick_dumonts_first_public/
Who cares if they're pro a certain politics.
By the way if you research further, the owners donate to both sides depending on policies affecting Israel I believe. So ownership is very pro Israel if anything.
It's not just a Trump thing.

The whole Americans won’t get behind a Euro as the face of a team/league/etc. is annoyingly lazy. One of the marquee franchises in the NBA just traded for a Euro to be their star of the future as they transition from one of the most marketable players ever. I wish people would quit trying to shoehorn that into every conversation that involves a non American star.

I think we all know there's truth to what the Mavs are saying. They don't believe in him, so they traded him. That's all there is to it. Yes Luka can finally find motivation to be better version of himself. It's a win-win trade for Luka and Mavs IMO. I'm over it.

It is 100% not a win for the Mavs. Its about a big a loss as you can take.

I kind of wish that Jeanie would put 49% of Lakers on the market and Mark Cuban buying it , then proceed to win the Championship

Wow, some people have this opinion?

Yeah, the inclusion of Shaq there just continues to make the new Mavs ownership look like tourists parroting stuff other people told them.
But it doesnt make them wrong. They can be ignorant about Shaq, and still be parroting someone who is right.
Time will see how this plays out. I think Mavs dodged a huge bullet. I realize thats a minority view right now.
Its not really a minority view it jsut doesn't make any sense at all. If they wanted to trade him to "dodge a bullet" they could have gotten young assets. Trading for an older player now that has way worse concerns about longevity is just not logical.

What's Dumont's story?
Is he self-made or did he inherit money?
Or he married into the Adelson family which made all the gambling money?

I don't really understand how they think that this smear campaign is going to help them. The only thing that will help them is winning a championship. If I were a player, Dallas has fallen significantly in my list of franchises I want to play for.

If you look at it from the usual perspective, that Luka is young, top 10 talent, etc etc yes. I'm saying from the Mavs' eyes, they got rid of a guy they don't believe in. And got a guy they believe in. That's a win for them. It really is clash of org culture vs personal ethos from the sound of it. Mavs don't know how to manage Luka, so they got rid of him.
