We've got his rights, he's signed, but his trade value isn't high for him to switch teams/circumstances either. This coming off-season we can't sign him to another 2-way deal so I think we'll either sign him to that end of bench spot or another team with more opportunity will come in and do it. I think he's potentially earned that chance. If I'm wrong then yeah Europe for sure for him..
That would be roster malpractice IMO. They can draft a senior PG in the draft who can contribute more than JD IMO. Stevens has shown that he's a loyal boss who will give his employee the most opportunities to succeed. Walsh and JD are perfect opposite examples. JD just isn't an NBA player. If there was gonna be a year for a euro team to take a shot with JD it was after last season. His stock was pretty high because he had the stats, he was in a good organization but this seasons camp shown he didn't get better. Now he's just a points leader for a G-League team. Look at the G-League stats leaders. It's exactly who they are, G-League stats leaders, that's it.
Did you see my game against you guys the other night? Not bad shooting the 3 ball for a 7ftr.![]()

JD is 22 years old and on a team that has multiple ball handlers and no need for a 3rd string on the regular roster at this time. I'd like to see him get a shot here, but maybe his G-League success can be a stepping stone.
I think of a young team like the Pistons with a player like 24yo Marcus Sasser. Is he really that much better than Davison? It's the circumstance. They've got a few young PG's that Davison could compete with for a regular roster spot. Other teams as well.
JD just needs an opportunity. Your point about his value is quite valid though. Being the Maine Celtics all-time leader in everything doesn't count for much. It may even be a red flag. He's at the point of his career where he needs a shot, but same can be said about a lot of other guys. Brad and the Celtics can do their part to help him, but there's no guarantee.
