The big thing the Raptors focus with on new players is changing their shot diet. I expect the Raptors will change where Ingram gets his scoring from. He’s very good at scoring inside when he gets there, but doesn’t do it enough. I expect the Raptors can generate more baskets for him going to the rim. He’s also a good 3 point shooter and has shot better than league average when he shoots more than 6 a game. As people have mentioned, he hasn’t played with a PG and won’t really play with one here, but Barnes like to pass and Ingram won’t need to initiate for others. They will work well together and hopefully better than Barnes and IQ in the pick and roll.
Also kind of funny and may work out well for the Raptors, but Ingram shoots above league average from the left arc at the 3 point line and is league average from everywhere else. Barnes is best from dead centre and left corner and IQ is elite from there top of the arc. Barrett is best from right arc of the 3 point line.
If someone told me we could push everyone on the team down one slot on the scoring side for a 2026 first round controlled by another team, and someone who won’t be 27 till later this year, I would say, go for it.
For those who keep bringing up Siakam - this is just a better fit position wise. Not sure why we are even talking about this. Ingram has proven to be a more talented 3 point shooter and plays a position we badly needed to improve.
