I think his current level of play is his ceiling. Although he may be more talented, I see him in the mold of Lou Williams, Eric Gordon, J Clarkson, Jason Terry, Ginobilli. I see elite scoring role player.
I think if the Heat ever have the chance to unload him for a legitimate primary option, they’ll do it.
He’s gone the second Ant comes available

Or if they’re able to land Luka in 26, they use Herro to fill out the roster

We're not getting Luka. The Lakers can still give him 340 mil over 5 vs 250 over 4 from anyone else. That's a 90 Mil difference. These guys are always going to go for the bigger number. If he thinks about leaving, he will sign the contract first and then demand a trade. At that point the Lakers got him for pennies on the dollar but will want the entire family fortune for him. Just like housing now days.

Herro is going nowhere.
The likes of Wiggins, JJJ, Duncan, and just about anyone with the exclusion of Bam, Ware, will be offered before hand, and young Jovic being a twist my arm last alternative IMO.
The Heat values Herro more than many fans in the Heat’s fan-hood space.

Nothing is guaranteed nowadays (except for AD getting hurt, apparently), but I don’t see Luka leaving LA. Hell, I’m not even sure if LeBron and Klutch can give him the boot if they wanted to. The Lakers got their shiny new toy for the next decade.
We gotta get one of Trae or KD. Maybe look to Ant if you’re feeling frisky.

It will be hard to stomach the offense without Herro.

I went go game 3 of the Boston series last year, came into town a day early and stayed across the street. Went to go check out the official team store. At the time I figured Herro was for sure getting moved that summer. Go to the store it almost all Herro gear could barely find and Jimmy stuff, all promotional things geared to Herro, I thought I had walked into some alternative reality where he was Miami's franchise player and just nobody told me. It was so odd that I really thought about it at the time, and here we are.

I would do bad things to get Lamelo Ball to be here. That to me is a guy who is simply just not being Coached, but he would not buck it if he was due to his upbringing. In Charlotte Lamelo is allowed to do whatever it is he wants, and he is 23 years old and still immature. He needs to be in a grown up organization, that calls him out for doing dumb stuff. I think he has the potential to be an elite defender, and a high level creator/facilitator, but he needs to be in an environment where that can happen.
Guys that I want and would keep an eye on moving forward
Edwards
Ball
Luka
I think there is merit depending on how the rest of this year goes, and the prospects we have this summer of grabbing one of those 3 via trade of trying to get KD in here for a one year rental run. He will be demanding a trade this summer.
Yeah, I don't get the "obsession" with either Ball brother. At least LaMelo is producing at an all-star level. I just don't think his game translates to winning basketball. He's still young, so we'll have to wait and see.
Luka and Edwards aren't going anywhere.
It's hard for me to imagine Miami will not re-visit the Durant trade idea, especially if somehow Miami ends up with a lotto pick and the GS pick conveys. I don't see Miami drafting 2 rookies and being content to just bring them in. If Durant makes it clear he wants to go to Miami, the price Phoenix can demand for Durant will drop considerably from what they were asking for at the deadline since he'll be a FA after next season.
Adebayo / Ware
Wiggins / Jovic
Durant / Anderson
Herro / Highsmith
Smart? / Mitchell?

Yea there’s no way Dallas trades Luka or even lets him walk, he’s definitely signing that supermax

Luka is no longer eligible for the supermax (it would have been 5 years, $345M with Dallas).
I'd pretty confidently bet that Luka Doncic is going to opt for a contract that gives him the option to be a free agent in 2028 as that is when he will be eligible to sign a new contract at "Supermax levels" (35% of cap) due to accruing 10 years in the NBA.
Whether Luka extends with LA now or waits until 2026 free agency to sign a contract, I do not expect that contract to be any longer than 2 years with a 3rd year player option (that he will opt out of for 2028 free agency).
When a player is the caliber of Luka and still in his 20s, the longest contract isn't the driving factor if its not associated with higher $. It's keeping optionality open while being able to maximize earnings.

Been hard to stomach his offense recently. Hopefully he plays but if not maybe a night off will help

Imagine if we would’ve traded Bam before last season for a guy who’s career is about to be over
