Part of arbitration is that each side hand picks one of the attorneys to the panel. The third is neutral. Would've been really damning if Taylor's own pick for the panel didn't side with him.

Glen Taylor did not push for the Karl-Anthony Towns trade, that is ridiculous. Literally his biggest flaw as an owner was keeping people around because he liked them on a personal level.

Yeah, I see that now. Its not really 3 votes, its a single vote that decides it.

Being honest, a lot of you are being extremely delusional about the benefits of ousting Glen Taylor. Lots of understandable bitterness about the Minnesota Timberwolves sucking for decades, but the reality is that there are a lot of risks associated with an ownership group that is this diluted.

I am not “doom and gloom”, but I have concerns about the willingness to spend longterm.

“Taylor, who shared my concerns”

LOL. False.

Taylor’s only concern was getting a higher price tag for a team he already agreed to sell.

You just fell for Taylor’s PR that Lo-Rod didn’t have the money.

At the very least he approved it.

And we don’t know if he pushed for it or not. I think we’ll learn more about that decision but we’ll see.

But he leaked a “plan” (it was a projection) that sent up alarm bells about Lo-Rod’s ability to go into the luxury tax.

You cannot lose sight of that context when thinking about Taylor signing off on The KAT trade and this ownership “battle”.

Even if he is senile, old and knows nothing about basketball, he okays everything his GM does. He doesn’t choose GMs any more.

So how is he a huge potential danger?

Because connley isn't going to stick around if Glen is the majority owner therefore Glen would have to find a new gm

First, even if Tim Connelly leaves, Glen no longer chooses GMs, he has others do it.

Second, why do you think Connelly would leave? If you’re a GM, you want an owner that opens the wallet, and one who lets you make all the calls. This is rarer than you’d expect, but Glen does both of these. Taylor not only pays Connelly extremely well, one of the highest GM salaries in the NBA, but he’s agreed to every expensive move Connelly has asked for. Taylor even gave Connelly the OK on deals he didn’t like (the Gobert deal). Next, Connelly doesn’t want to move his family again. And finally, Connelly probably wants to be here to see how the team he put together does!

Do you know Connelly isn’t going to stick around? As a GM, I would be far more worried about ARod and Lore ponying up the cash for my moves, and I would certainly expect ARod to be one of the many owners that thinks he knows the business, and kibitzes.

There's zero reason for connley to delay his option for a year until the ownership situation got sorted out if he was good with both owners. Unless for whatever reason you think he doesn't want the two people that went and got him in the first place

I guess the big downsize from Glen is that you can't go and get pretty much free tickets from cub foods cause the team sucks so bad like you could back in the 2000s

No, it really shouldn't have been in doubt.

I'm curious... throughout this process, how many people were literally insulted in this discussion by one or two specific posters here, just for believing the obvious?

I was personally attacked and the poster who did so doesn’t seem to have any awareness of it now.

What are you even talking about? You shouldn't just make up things that can be looked up...

They got out of it once Glen stepped aside. Go look up the record when it was just Glen

So you aren't counting the last three years?

Glen also approved the Rudy Gobert trade, which he was not convinced of when it was happening. He generally goes along with whatever his front office wants, which would be a massive blessing if his hiring history wasn’t so poor.

In reality, the Rudy Gobert trade was made prior to the new CBA, and staying in the Second Apron longterm was not sustainable. Tim Connelly believed that it was the right decision for the team (which I think is understandable), and so the trade was made. Glen was not actively trying to trade KAT, he loved the guy.

Frankly, the idea that Glen was penny pinching is just really silly. The dude ate ten million dollars on waiving Keita Bates-Diop so Tim Connelly could keep P.J. Dozier instead. Minnesota absolutely should have either kept KBD or shipped him alongside a second to save the money, but Glen was willing toto take the financial hit to save the second.

That’s an excellent point and one I hadn’t thought of.

I’ve never considered Glen to be cheap. He broke the bank (and ultimately they changed the CBA) for KG’s contract. I also respect the fact that he kept the team in Minnesota.

But ultimately…

I want Glen gone because of his inability to field a winner. His hiring of (and loyalty to) Kevin McHale and David Kahn set this franchise back at least 10 years.

KG’s best years were squandered because of Glen Taylor.

I am ready for anyone else to give it a shot. I’m with Lore, ARod, and Bloomberg. I believe the addition of Bloomberg firms up a lot of financial questions for that group.

We don’t know if they’ll eat 6m in cut cap to save a 2nd. They haven’t had the chance yet. But I believe they want to build a winner.

Something I wasn’t sure Glen Taylor thought was actually possible.

It’s not just Glen taking the hit. Just sayin. Lo-Rod are already in for 40+%.

This was obvious from the beginning. Today is a good day minus this beating from the Cavs. Celebrate the win Wolves fans.

Oh really? Do I need to bring up the 2011 draft where the Wolves kept trading back in order to get enough cash considerations from other teams to pay off Rambis?
