The debate was less about Khris and more about the ‘31 1st.

Moving forward it could be wise adding multiple contributors like Kuzma instead of a third max player. Horst will have access to the non tax MLE in offseason. I already started the campaign for NAW! Bobby is also a keeper at MLE money.
If you can turn Pat into a starting C too, this could be a fun team next season.

We have a dilemma similar to the Kohl era now. Who is making the decisions in the front office? My sense is Horst has a lot more power than the Kohl GM’s but he’s still restricted. That said, Horst seems incapable of identifying any bargain talent in the draft or FA.
Then you’ve got the issue of Horst’s relationship with Giannis, which historically has been very good. Then you’ve got an ownership group smitten by Doc’s corporate talk.
We’ve got a mess on our hands.

Some but...
Several posters said they don't want anything to do with J. Butler's head games/attitude/etc... this time. .
Last time it was.. we need to keep Mids bc he spreads the floor by shooting 3s and Butler doesn't

After getting under the 2nd apron via Pat, Horst should have aggregated Khris and Bobby to get Butler or Lavine , else they should have kept Khris. trading Khris for Kuzma was a huge error.

I mean, if you're looking for a reason beyond the obvious (Doc's lineups and offensive philosophy) then sorry, can't cheer on Giannis letting mid-rangers fly (yay most inefficient shot in basketball!) as he posts career highs in usage, shot attempts, etc. while having the worst FT efficiency of his career and then turn around and ask, "why isn't the offense better?"
I’ve come to the conclusion Giannis is who he is. And we live with his Westbrook tendencies because no one can coach it out of him. Thus it’s all about figuring out which players complement him best.

Do you assume he was available? Do you also assume that they wanted Khris and a player picked late first round in one if the worst drafts in recent memory who is only scoring 13 ppg in the g league?
Ive got no problem w people not liking the move. It irritates me though when people assume that a functioning adult who gets paid to make nba decisions and has big skin in the game would just take a worse option when better ones existed.
The trade we got? Almost certainly the best available option. He didnt pull a Nico. He was looking for better options since November.

1) KM's injury had nothing to do with being traded-he really emphasizes that.
2) He thinks Kuzma will be much better here as long as he takes quality shots
3) Bucks were playing tremendous ball leading up to deadline, but wanted more front court depth against playoff teams.
4) Thinks things are changing and that playoffs, unlike the past, may become more fast break action
5)The apron had nothing to do with the trades, although it gave them more flexibiliy after.
