Kyrie Irving

Post#1 » by Astaluego » Tue Feb 11, 2025 8:09 am

Kyrie is probably my favorite player, it is no secret that he is a special player with a peculiar personality, you can hate or love, but it is indisputable that he is faithful to his principles, he is moved by feelings, vibe, energy or whatever you want to call it... Luka's change has affected him, (maybe it's just an impression of mine) but I don't think KI fits at all, with the direction the Mavs are taking and their new ownership... KI has a PO this summer...although it is true that only the Mavs can pay him (obviously the Nets are ruled out here) for what will probably be his last big contract...but on the other hand you don't want to have KI unhappy...
With all this scenario, what do you think will happen with Irving's future? Could he be on the move this summer?
What would be his value? What offers could we see?

Im going to assume he wants to go to a contender (if he leaves).
Would okc see him as a fit next to Shai like he was next to luka? If they come up short maybe?

Hartenstein + jrue to Dallas
Gafford + irving to okc
Caruso + joe to boston

Hartenstein/Lively
AD/Martin
PJ/Naji
Klay/christie
Jrue/dinwiddie
Continues with the "defense 1st" bs nico was saying

He's going to opt out and use his leverage over Dallas(finally a time someone actually has leverage lol) and secure a new max deal. Dallas probably fights hard to keep it 3, but I bet he gets 4 years, and heck it would be hilarious at this point if they cave and give him 5.

Orlando should make a real play though.

His leverage isn't great though as the one team with cap space is the one team he's definitely not signing with.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.
