This was confirmed by multiple sources to not be the case. Also, confirmed by Luka crying after he was traded.

Did Dirk send a message to the new Mavs owner?

Him attending the Lakers game to support Luka with his dad was kind of weird.

Alright, but of course I was being theoretical.

At the very least, the only good thing to come out of this is this will never happen again.

Also....why on Earth would you trade the younger less injury prone superstar for the older, way more injury prone one, that's beyond stupid.

I mean, Dumbont didn't even list Dirk when naming off "hard working" NBA greats. It's clear that Nico and the Adelsons don't respect Dirk.

Good for Dirk. That's a huge middle finger to the Adelsons. That little, fat gremlin is going to go remove Dirk's statue, Saddam style, after this.

And the Mavs fans will be on Dirk's side imo.

KOC weighs in. And he hits the nail on the head. Sad watching the Mavs organization implode like this.

Lol no he doesn't.

He just followed directions and orders from those who sign his checks.

Nico would have gone down as a Mavs legend if he chose to resign or quit instead of facilitating that Luka trade.

I have a hard time believing this is incompetence. I'm starting to think it's on purpose, the owners of the Mavs want a reason to go to Vegas...

They tried to trade Luka to Minnesota! Wow would have shipped AE out immediately

All these are fairytales. Nico said that he made a deal with Pelinka because he believed him being silent. No way those talks would have kept secret, if more teams were involved. Everyone would have known in a week.

Dallas contacted:

Lakers (AD)
Minn (Edwards)
Bucks (Giannis)

Only Lakers were interested?

You should ask yourself, why and how would those not interested parties stay quiet for a month? Not possible. I wouldn't be surprised, if this is new Mavs' FO spin to show how nobody wanted Luka.

They could say, never trading Edwards/Giannis.

OR

Say yes but it has to be for Luka and then the framework begins.

And what would be motivation for being quiet? To help Pelinka getting Luka as cheap as possible?

Because they didnt know Dallas also contacted the Lakers.

Pelinka said he and Nico talked few months ago and then somehow AD and Lukas names came up which started the framework.

Yes sure, they believed they contacted only them. And even if they would believe that, they had no interest keeping it quiet. The only 2 parties, who were interested for keeping secret were Lakers and Nico, who knew that he can't trade Luka, if word goes out.
