The PO is the only part that kinda sours me on the deal.

WTF is with this stupid FO and constantly giving out POs. I would actually have been 100% on board with 40m with a TO.

Increasing cost, and a player option. My god, this FO sometimes...

Everyone here would have wanted a team option. Obviously it's because it's Toronto and they have to.

Your constant belief that everyone else besides you is stupid, and doesn't think of the most simple concepts is **** exhausting. If you were in the room you would know exactly why, but the one reason I can guarantee that they didn't get a team option and gave a player option is NOT because you're the only one that thought of it.

This makes the Ingram trade officially a home run.

I repeated for a year "how the hell did we get rid of an all nba level player for 3 mid to late 1st round picks." Well, masai shut me up and got one for 1 mid to late 1st round pick lol.

Whoever the top 5 pick is will determine the ceiling of this team. It's imperative we hit a home run here because we won't get to pick this high for a little while.

Ah yes....the people who kept getting the response "so he's taking a pay cut? "

Those people kept saying 35 just to make whatever number that came up sound bad.

Honestly I thought it was going to stretch out to the late June/early July and it would be a 5 year deal starting at $35/36 with PO in year 5 worth $205+

3/$120 is better I think.

The three year maximum extension with PO shows you the zero leverage we had. I hope it works out but this FO, man they love digging holes.

His max extension was 3/144

That’s fair

It looks like another Siakam situation brewing in 2 trade deadlines

And yet they were only off by $3m, ~2% of the cap

5-6 million you mean?

No. He is starting at $38M.

Of 100 top paid, 35 have POs. It is not really that weird for players to get POs.

Would a 2 year 80M deal make you happier?

Doesn't quite look like 54 million a year to me.

Scottie - 38M
Ingram - 40M
IQ - 32M
RJ - 27M (extension eligible)
Poeltl - 19.5M (extension eligible)

very expensive starting lineup with very little playoff experience.

Is it that expensive? Seems pretty normal to me.

With all the racist **** going on down there, Ingram might regret not making it 4 plus an option. But he will be happy to be able to be here for the bulk of it, if he wants to be.

This is OK. Neither over the moon nor devestated by this news. I'll reserve judgement until I see how the team plays together. I would have preferred if the Raps could trial run Ingram before signing the extension but that could have resulted in an even more expensive deal.

It’s expensive but that kinda goes away if they’re a top 6 seed team.

If they aren’t that, IQ or RJ are a goner.

If they were going to hand out a player option, should've made it 4-year deal with 4th year being player option. Much easier to swallow the PO with one more year or 3-year window to see how the core works.

Ehhhh we have a lot of money tied up on 5 guys with no superstar.

That's not the most enviable position to be in.

assets can be consolidated into a superstar.....RJ, IQ, Ochai, Dick, Raptors FRPs from 2026-2031.....they have the assets to trade up into a disgruntled superstar.

The roster is far from final, the 2025 draft alone can change things. If you draft Harper do you still want to keep IQ? If you get to draft Flagg or Ace do you want to keep RJ at that point? That's if they get lucky of course....these are good problems.

Yah, definitely normal for a good team & it's clear the FO is betting we'll be one next season

25%
24.5%
21%
18%
12.6%

~~101% for starting line up and thats of the regular cap, not tax line.

Yes he's currently starting at 38 million this year but people going estimates of 34-35 million/year despite it being a pay cut were not just off by 3 million.

The new CBA and second apron has 100% changed the trade value for any player that isn't a star, or a great player paid terribly (OG/Bridges).
