Why didn’t the Bulls trade Vucevic?
They are currently 9 games below .500 (and losing to the Pistons by 50; yikes!).
They’ve virtually no chance to make the playoffs with Lavine gone, nor should they want to with their own pick back in hand, and Vuc is having a pretty good season.
I know they couldn’t get the FRP they wanted, but they couldn’t get a swap or even just a couple seconds or… something? Anything??
At his age, and without Lavine to take some defensive attention off him for the rest of the season, it’s not like his value goes up in the offseason.
Am I missing something or is this just malpractice?

The owner likes to compete for the play-in.

Re: Why didn’t the Bulls trade Vucevic?
The new apron rules make it hard for a lot of teams to take on a player with a salary the size of his. Eliminates a lot of suitors and depresses value.
Also, they can still move him in the offseason. As an expiring deal he might be easier to fit in for some teams.

he has no real value on the market (probably a SRP)...career year on 3s but not a real shooter (career 34%) and bad defender. Why would you want him on your team?

Two teams were reportedly interested at the deadline, but GSW disappeared as an option after acquiring Jimmy, and LAL it seems chose Mark Williams(you wonder if they wish they'd gone for Vuc at this point).

His value will be better after the season ........ Decent sized expiring fillers are always good to help push a trade thru

Re: Why didn’t the Bulls trade Vucevic?
because they’re the worst **** team that has ruined their legacy of winning with incompetent owners/GMing that turned the Jimmy Butler trade into LaVine/Markkanen and them proceeded to ruin Lauri’s development and then trade LaVine for Kevin **** Huerter, Zach Collins and Tre Jones.
They traded out of the Jimmy Butler experience just to be awful for a decade
I’d rather be the Wizards than the Bulls.

Re: Why didn’t the Bulls trade Vucevic?
Wild guess: the Bulls are one of the most incompetent franchises in the league.
How can you not sell high on Vuc? There was zero chance he could maintain his shooting (has shot 29% from 3 over the last 20 games). His defense is bottom of the barrel for a C.
I feel for Bulls fans. Major market with a rich history. They should be a free agent destination but their ownership is a joke.

Vuc is a good tank commander and would not fetch any rebuilding-friendly assets. Might as keep him for the offseason market where he will be an expiring deal.

I feel like we ask this type of question every year regarding the Bulls FO.

Probably didn’t get the kind of offers that they were looking for. Next season might get a little more since he’s expiring

At least he won't hurt our tank
His minutes will go down, and he'll have an "injury" soon-to sit out a while.
We just lost by 40 at home with our full roster (except Ball)-the tank is on

He's one of the few stretch C's in the league. They should be looking to sell him when his value is higher, there's no point in them doing it now.

Bottom of the barrel ownership group employing an utterly and grossly incompetent front office.
Regularly competing against themselves to resign guys for above market value.
Vucebrick. Sleepy Pat Williams. Giddey’s next in line to get overpaid!!
Oh, aprons are a thing, and you don’t want my overpriced Vucebrick?
Complete idiots.

Are u a stretch c if u shoot lots of 3s but not hitting them? Or just a player that takes shots he shouldnt take and bad D. No team trying to win should trade for that. Basicly a vet min player on 20m deal

Re: Why didn’t the Bulls trade Vucevic?
Ingram and Scottie can be 3rd star level on a contender and RJ, Quickley and Poeltl can all be 4th or 5th best starters imo. The fit isn’t the best and the depth is questionable outside of Gradey and Ochai but they’re all relatively young. I can see them anywhere from 9th to 6th when healthy

I figured as much but with LA/Charlotte needing a center, Warriors reportedly interested, Spurs signing a center after the deadline…
Seems like they could have gotten something!
I honestly would have taken even a decent SRP, or included some SRPs of my own to get a pick swap like 8 years away or something lol.
They need to start accumulating assets imo.

While LA need a center, they dont need anything Vuc brings. So why waste capspace and assets on him?

GSW should have traded for Vuc even more after the Jimmy trade. He would have fit great with Dray and Jimmy anchoring the defense.
