The kid has played his heart out, done everything he could to keep this team afloat with short-handed squads and forced into massive minutes. Maxey has EARNED the right to have an off-night. He didn't have it, something seemed wrong, but in no way should any of us rag on him or roast him for being off and not there to save us every single second.
I just want him to be the lead dog. I agree he can have an off night. But I'm more concerned about this.

On a positive note, I loved what Jared Butler gave us. This dude can play. I remember back at Baylor. Had the heart issue and it caused him to drop in the draft. Either way, he looked great tonight. I like what Grimes does too. He's not afraid of the moment. Both he and Butler are decent defenders too. Grimes with a few gambles that cost us, but I like what he brings. Underrated athlete too. Keep them both.

Why are we like this? Why is Nick Nurse speculating about our star player being injured with no information?

Not even close. Go slither back to your own boards and hang with Drake, I heard he was very popular during the super bowl halftime show.

I'm not much of an Aubrey fan myself.

Have a great rest of the season.

Keep winning and pass us in the standings please. Thanks.

Kate Scott calling that last possession a "nice design." Nearly turning the ball over on a cross court pass to Maxey (who hasn't made a shot all night) who chucks up an awful contested three.

Tremendous insight and commentary as always.

Thus...I wish that Philly goes on a nice long win streak and sneak into the playoffs only to get blown out by the Cavs or Celtics in 2 (as it won't take 4 games for Philly to give up). Once again...have a great rest of the season.

I’m thinking sneaking into the playin is more of your destiny with your cake schedule and big acquisition. Enjoy!

Following the team in passing at this point, but it really is a gong show from the outside looking in.

Fear Mongering about potential future surgeries needed last game in the midst of a loss to the Giannis-less Bucks, out two days later against the lowly Raptors hunting stats.

Already lost interest in the season so it's of no concern to me. On the bright side however, fantastic loss tonight, intentional or not they count all the same. Keep it up and with a little luck might be able to add a significant piece on draft night.

Could you imagine if we didn't draft McCain? How bleak would that future be?

It feels like the Derozan-LaMarcus Spurs, where it just takes too much effort to beat less talented teams because of our style of play.

The mere fact that McCain is considered as a hope for the future is bleak.

I think we have higher standards for that. He’d only be a 6th man at best for the Thunders or the Rockets.

That’s how you defend Jojo—wall off his drives, keep him off the line, and force him into jumpers. He shoots in the low 30s from three and around 40% from mid-range. That math was tougher to beat back then, but with teams now shooting threes at higher volume and efficiency, plus Embiid being a step slower, being TO prone and defenses loading up on wings, most teams, specially the top playoff teams would win the math battle nowadays.

I mean, how did the Raps were able to match our shotmaking contest down the stretch where they don’t have near the talent of shot creators compared to our team?

Ruined the broadcasts for me years ago. Where's my brother Vols who can join in solidarity missing the goat Zumoff.

As a rookie? Maybe. But it's hard to really judge a 15th overall pick in year one. He has shown he's way better than a 6th man in his short time playing this year.

You can apply the same hopeful narrative to anyone in this draft. There’s a lot of “coping” in convincing ourselves that McCain is the light at the end of the tunnel.

Just look at the talent across the league, especially at the guard position. Even Trae Young barely made the All-Star team. Maxey averaged nearly 30 while playing both ends and still got snubbed. Quickley dropped 20 and 5 against us, yet he’s considered a nobody. Reed Sheppard was in the G League not long ago. Bub Carrington looks like a perennial 17-5-5 guy. Isaiah Collier has the vision to lead the league in assists one day. And the list keeps going.
