I think the fans are frustrated because of the expectations set forth by all the off-season moves. Thibs is good regular season coach, but he definitely limits their ceiling.

We’ve mostly looked good against quality competition. However, we have looked really bad against the elite teams in the league.

I think the thing that sticks out most is how bad their defense and bench has been for the majority of the season. I’m not sure how much Mitch fixes those issues. I’m not saying he won’t help, I just don’t think he will be this automatic savior on defense that some of y’all are expecting him to be.

Sometimes they do..certainly during stretches earlier in the season. But yeah Brunson gets tunnel vision sometimes and doesn't see Towns. I'm sure he'll work on that though - just give it some time.

The idea that they don't work together while we are the number 2 offense in the league and they are both all stars is just silly to say.

Explain how he limits the ceiling when the team doesn’t have the depth to win a ring

They mostly just take turns on offense. It's disappointing, because they should be playing off each other like a dynamic duo.

It bears repeating: If Brunson can't figure out how to set up KAT for more PnRs and Pick and Pops then it falls on the coach to install those plays.

I blame Brunson first, because he shouldn't need any coach to inform him on how to enable KAT and weaponize him further. But the ultimate blame falls on Thibs.

Because a lot of their losses this season are the direct result of his poor decision making.

Against the OKC and Celtics we still lack the cohesiveness and the chemistry (their cores work longer together). But Thibs and co bring this team back to relevance. We should be the top 8 team in the league now. Whether he is a champion coach that's another question.

He’s a good regular season coach. I thank him for helping turn this franchise around. He limits their potential though. Need to find our own version of Atkinson.

So when they win it’s the players, but when they lose it’s from his poor decisions.ok..makes perfect sense

It really boggles the mind how much people trash this team and complain every damn day. I admit I go in on Thibs over the top but, this team is better than anything we have seen in 25 years! The roster is loaded with more talent than we have seen in that time span. We have had more success in the last two and a half years than we have in that time span. It still isn't good enough? Whatever.

As much as I have my doubts about the HC, I still think we have a championship level team that may need some depth to get them over that hump. I am not counting us out this season at all but, I think we are in the hunt for the next few years if we play our cards right. That's all any team can hope for in this league. We haven't had this much potential in over two and a half decades. What is wrong with people?

If the Mitch impact is close to what I HOPE it will be we could contend THIS year.

I guess we will see.

We are contending right now. We may fall short but, top of the league teams win championships. We are exactly that. There are three teams we have to worry about if we played them today. Let's see if that changes in three months. Mitch could definitely change the dynamic some. It's been a fun ride for the most part. Losing to BOS/OKC the way we have definitely sucks but, we aren't finished building this team or the chemistry. They took years to get where they are right now. Hopefully we get there too. We aren't that far off. I choose to enjoy reality and not some unrealistic expectations I made up in my own mind.

Limits their potential is bs..I think he’s allowing them to go beyond their potential, every player that comes to the knicks and play under thibs excel, career seasons, reach new heights. The list goes on and on, including 2 guys who are starting in the AS game.

Sure, I am not denying that he gets his players to overachieve and excel. It’s never been about effort. It’s more about his rotations and inability to adjust when certain things aren’t working.

He definitely limits how far they will go in the post season. He’s quite frankly way too stubborn to adjust at times, and it’s maddening to see him make some of the same mistakes over and over again. Just my opinion. You may not like it or agree and quite frankly I don’t care.

I would absolutely love to be wrong about him, but I don’t think I am.

I don't think this team without Robinson beats the top 3 of Thunder, Cavs and Celts. With a HEALTHY Mitch who is anywhere near the Mitch of last few years we CAN potentially beat anybody.

Well....you never know but, Mitch is on this roster and we are challenging the top of the league to make the playoffs. So we are contending. If we fall short that's ok. If we get better with Mitch and win, that's ok too. We are actual contenders right now. That doesn't change until we lose in the playoffs. Then we regroup and try again next year.
