Did Jokic die or something? :-? I would also rather have Giannis than Davis... If you put a gun to my head i'll even take a healthy Luka over fully healthy AD in playoffs.

I love those partial stats, ESPN and NBATV do the same.

I can add:

AD win % with the Mavs = 100%
AD averages at 26-16-7 3blocks 100% from 3s with the Mavs

AD was at the game so maybe it's not as bad as we thought. But then again, Kidd skipping press conference for the first time is not a good sign either. In my opinion they are trying to figure out the fastest and safest way to bring him back. Them coming out saying he needs a surgery would be incredibly bad.

Brian Windhorst on Anthony Davis’s injury:

“I think he’s going to avoid surgery in the short term, but he’s going to be out a while from what I understand.”

We need a new nick name for AD... day-to-Davis and street clothes are already picked.

Maybe "I'm here (until 3rd quarter at least)" ?

I doubt that Windhorst knows anything. He's just guessing.

Yeah he is, but it was also already said he'll be out almost a month. So right now we don't know if it's grade 2 or 3 type of injury. And it's weird Mavs FO don't say anything about it. They usually quickly tell the news.

Mavs didn't say anything, we don't even know what kind of injury he has, that tells me more than anything Windhorst says.

If the news is that AD is gonna be out the whole season or that he's gonna play injured to avoid surgery short-term, just shut it down. Our entire big rotation is out, many of them for an extended period of time. Kyrie has been playing with a bad back. Good chance that gets even worse if he continues to play 40-44 mpg while putting the effort he's been putting.

Just throw in the towel. Get a lottery pick and get healthy for next season.

Not a good idea to give up right now, especially Kyrie is having a player option in the coming summer, West is competitive, while there are only 2 teams clearly in the lottery. The mean all our competitor wont get so many easy win. Develop winning habit is always important.

Yeah Windbag is just guessing. He's just poking around and hope one thing hits. His batting average is very low. Tells me no one from Dallas is actually talking to him. He's usually connected to LA. Same with Ramona Shelbourne. I doubt Nico has him on speed dial.

We don't know what the injury status is, but Kings, Spurs and Suns aren't good and 9th/10th seed is up for grabs, and if Lively and AD are healthy they can beat anyone, but I don't know if Kyrie can survive the load...

Does it make sense to tank with like 8 guys injured? Even my King, Dwight Powell is out.

However the downside is Kyrie's about to open up extension talks and you probably do not want to be a tanking team there. But then again Nico said he's known these guys since they were young. Maybe he can actually convince them to stay. Who knows.

Yeah, it's not clear, by mid March it'll be clearer...

Tanking makes no sense. Imaging trading away Luka to win now and one week later we are talking about tanking.

They will try to survice somehow. Play some young guns and hope the Starts come back for the play in. That is the only realistic thing they can do

Trading Luka and the injuries are 2 separate things that are independent of each other. But most fans will inevitably connect them.

AD getting injured, PJ rolling his ankle, Gaff spraining his knee. Those were all unplanned and independent of the Luka trade. Things just happened and unfortunately for Dallas, they're getting the shorter end of the stick now. I remember the playoffs in the early 2000s when Dallas had to face Duncan and the Spurs and Dirk had them nasty bone spurs that had to be surgically removed. Those were first or 2nd round exits year in year out. You need a fully healthy squad in the playoffs to go for a deep run or Boston will just trample all over you 4-0.

There's nothing there. Nothing from Mavs, just guessing. Rehabilitation in coming weeks, it's like saying, sun will shine someday in the future. No timetable whatsoever. Interesting part is that we got timetable for Gafford injury 1 day after the injury.
