I'm still looking forward to a 10th seed. I'd much prefer a higher seed, but as long as we make it to the play-in and win, it doesn't matter where we started. We still have a chance (however small) of winning the whole thing. Only if everyone is healthy (unlikely), but if we have a healthy Embiid, I hope we go for it. We may never see a healthy Embiid for the playoffs, but we have at most 4 years left where he's a good enough player that it even matters. If this is a year where he can be healthy, I want to take that shot.

It seems all too likely that we will miss the play-in but get a terrible draft pick that we don't get to keep anyway. Worst of all worlds. :banghead:

The play-in is doing its job... minimizing tanking. That's exactly what Silver wants. These myopic owners saying "oooh we can get an extra 1-4 home games of revenue".

No one is watching this team in the play-in again, though. Complete waste of time.

I agree. The play-in is what's hurting any tank for this team. Even half healthy, we are better than the Bulls, and that ground can be made up in a matter of a week or 2. You really have to be truly terrible to tank, and that is exactly what Silver wants.

BTW, as you say, I stopped watching this team in December. I can't believe I still have league pass, as I don't use it anymore and need to end it......except I still have hope that IF we get healthy. Yeah I'm an idiot.

Yeah, I haven't watched an NBA game since well before Christmas. I have YouTubeTV anyway primarily for UT games, so just in case there is any chance of interest, which is highly doubtful. The league has never held as little interest for me as it has the last couple of years. No compelling teams, too many damn 3-pointers.

Thanks for the W last night even though both teams were determined to lose that game.

I thought UK played very well, especially being shorthanded on the road. They hit a 3 seemingly every time they needed one, and we couldn't throw it in the ocean. Our offense is broken right now, and Rick has some work to do.

Don't worry Morey has 2 picks in next year's draft, I think he should keep them both and save the future

I know. The bad part is we can realistically only catch Brooklyn and Toronto which would put us in the bottom 5 at best.

SILVER PLEASE

one cold envelope to alleviate our suffering

NBA draft lottery odds on Tankathon are amusing because it doesn't seem so far out that we could actually be blessed with a top four pick via lottery win.

Finish 7th (current slot) last? No problem, 32% odds at top four. Finish 5th or 6th last and you're looking at nearly 2 in 5ths chances at drafting a franchise altering piece.

Do the right thing and shut it down, let Embiid get whatever surgery he needs - send PG back home out west to allow him his creative license to record as many podcasts as his heart desires since it seems like hooping might actually be impeding on that.

Every win is a dagger to the chest, shouldn't be finishing any higher than 7th.

30 games left, fifth is not out of the picture, especially after the Ingram trade for the Raptors and the fact that we face them H2H three more times until seasons end including a huge game on the 11th.

We are still playing Embiid and PG because that is our tanking strategy. The young guys are too good so we have to play these old washed up fools to keep losing.

We've got some crucial games coming up for the tank crew. Raptors, Nets, Nets. These are the two teams we need to pass us in the standings. Lose those three and then to Boston and we'll be on our way again.

I think that with Embiid and PG playing we will lose a lot of games. Embiid slows down the team and since he's still not recovered from the injury I guess he does not compensate for it with great offense + he is not good defensively and not good at rebounding now. PG's pinky is still hurting him and he's busy reacting to Luka Doncic to LA. Nurse does not have the guts to bench these guys nor wants to do that and he fields dumb lineups so ironically I think this is our path to tanking lol. The young guys would fight hard for minutes and contracts, these two don't care that much and/or don't want to play through injuries and discomfort anymore. As you say, if we lose the next four games, it will be very hard to hope to get a play in spot.

Need to go all-in on the tank, at this point.

I think we can get to sixth realistically (catch one of Brooklyn or Toronto but not both) and that would be a good outcome and then we see how the lottery shakes out.

Just lose the next one and get Embiid's surgery scheduled (if there really is one). If he's not healthy none of this matters anyway. If we go through a whole **** year of this just to postpone it and have him miss the first half of next year I'm gonna lose my ****.

Get PG one of those NFL lineman club casts so he can't play. Exaggerate whatever injury Maxey currently has. Sign some other washed 40 year old small guard for Nurse to play at PF.

They need to tank hard enough to make Hinkie blush the rest of the way.

5th worst is easily attainable. Must lose tonight then start shutting everyone down over the break.

The goal is to finish with no more than 25 wins!

The Sixers should not win another game until Utah on March 9th.

That would put them at 21-42. That should put them below BKN and in close range of Toronto.

And I don't care if it's fourth, but the Sixers envelope needs to be pulled by that bastard Commissoner.

I actually don't think that it matters where we end up in the lottery standings. I think we will be given a top 4 pick for the stadium stuff. I also think that the lack of long-term injury reporting transparency is done with the implicit approval of the league office and that curries favor.

I'll always believe we were given Simmons as a "gift" for pushing out Hinkie and since then Harris has always shown to be the league's doormat and he gets tokens like this every now and then from the league. I fully expect a top 4 pick this year to be another one.
