Trying to squwash protest usually is not an effective way to change people's minds

Who the **** owns the Mavs now? Mr. Burns?
I wasn't trying to deep dive into these owners, as all i heard of them as humans made me sick, maybe I am wrong, but it really looks if you compared, Mr. Burns would be the good guy. These guys sound like the villains from Richie Rich movie or smth like that.

If we want to stay with the Simpsons analogies, the current ownership and front office are a combination of the arrogance and coldheartedness of Mr. Burns, the criminal energy of Fat Tony and the pure incompetence of Dr. Nick Riviera.
And they try to paint Luka as Barney Gumble although he is Professor Frink in terms of accomplishments.

They're just following their fearless leader's blueprint
Just surprised I haven't seen a "it's their team, they have every right to do what they want with it" post in here

Re: Mavs fans ejected for “Fire Nico” signs
Mavs are throwing out their own fans of the arena. This is enough for me. I am done.
They didn't even do something too bad. This just gets weirder and weirder.
Especially the Mavs man. One the best fan-team connection over the last 20 years and now that?
They are really upsetting their fans on purpose. This is enough.

That’s the best strategy. If you don’t like the trade, don’t show up. Don’t show up and act like a turd and spoiling the fun for those who want to enjoy the game. Most of these “protesters” are attention seekers anyway, most definitely keeping others informed of their outrage on social media.

The USA? Remind me, what countries jail their citizens for Twitter posts? The USA is literally one of the last bastions for free speech in the world. Almost lost it for a few years, but it’s back now. Hopefully more of the world starts to follow suit.
Oh well, if racism, hate speech and sexism are to be considered the new normal, then of course I agree with you.
While the First Amendment provides robust legal protection for speech, it’s important to remember that these rights aren’t absolute. Courts have long recognized exceptions—such as for inciting violence or making true threats—and in practice, societal and political pressures can lead to self-censorship or selective enforcement. This means that while the law might say one thing, the lived experience of free expression can be more complicated.
In today’s digital age, much of our public discourse happens on private platforms like Twitter or Facebook. These companies have their own content moderation policies that sometimes lead to the removal or suppression of certain viewpoints. Although this isn’t government censorship, it does raise questions about who truly controls the boundaries of acceptable speech and whether these decisions always reflect a fair balance between free expression and community safety.

Yeah, but the "public safety" thing is used mostly to influence the public and create a psychology of fear that they then use to justify anything and everything that they do
US is a country where a large part of the population is openly accepting and encouraging loss of human and civic rights all in the name of protection

Just don't turn up to games or buy anything related to the team. I'm not sure why more fans don't just vote with their $$

I am with you. That's waht most of the people don't get. Modern censorship and the fight over civil rights and political issues are not fought at elections, in courts or in parlaments. big companies have far more power than states and they are influencing directly everything as we can see right now with our own eyes.

It would have really been interesting to see how the internet would have reacted if the Mavs threw out some 8-9 year old kids for chanting "Fire Nico".

Re: Mavs fans ejected for “Fire Nico” signs
Mavs should count themselves lucky they have fans who go to games and are passionate about their team.
In any case, Mavs should stop attempting to control the narrative. The image of fans advocating Nico's dismissal is going to have no effect on the public narrative that surrounds the trade. They have no control over it at this point; the narrative is the narrative. Nico is the mastermind behind what is seen as one of the worst trades of the decade.
It's like when Brian Colangelo created a burner account. Did he really believe that by doing that, he would fix his reputation? Like the Mavericks, instead he only came across as petty and thin-skinned (among other things). The only way this trade's story can change is if Nico turns out to be correct. Luka's criticisms are proven to be accurate, and AD overcomes his injury problems.
I do not think anyone here expects that to happen, which is why the public's reaction is what it is. The only thing Nico and the Mavs can say is that we will be proven correct eventually.

The media needs to go after the Mavs over this. Get a crowd chant screaming 'FIRE NICO, F,#* NICO' and see if they can boot the whole crowd out.
Complete scum.
Or how about no one goes to a game and they have to play in an empty arena.
Can you imagine how embarrassing that would be?
That's really what the fans need to organize. Pick a bad team where nobody is going to feel that bad about the wasted tickets and make an actual stand.

That said, its a really bad look to be kicking out your fans for being disgruntled about a trade.
His argument and I'm not a lawyer is that the NBA has a clear set of rules. And as such it should be the NBA's rules and not the Mav's decision to be made on the fly. Again I don't know the law, but his argument is a bit more nuanced than you're giving it credit for.

So, shrug. Either you're for free speech or you're not. Choose a lane.
