1. Will he still be a Celtic in 5 years?
2. Will #7 go in the rafters for him?
3. Will he make the HOF?

I say
1. no
2. yes
3. yes

Agreed on all your answers.

#1 has more to do with Cs financial situation (trade) and JB's desire to keep reaching new heights and challenging himself (ask for a trade or leave in FA).

Agreed. When the going gets rough here, I think he's somewhat likely to get going. Totally open to being proved wrong.

Set your alarms for some time in 2040 for threads arguing that Jaylen doesn't "really" deserve his # going in the rafters and ofc how he might have been elected to and inducted into the HOF but he's not really a HOFer.

I say all of this fully aware of his warts. He drives me bananas sometimes. But he's one of the 24 best players in the league and please don't you dare start making The List of them!!

I miss BCGM's list of injured and retired players who were all better than JB.
We won it for Al!!!

People have speculated that with new owners coming in and Jaylen on this huge supermax, that Jaylen could be the salary cap casualty.
But…
With Luka Doncic going to The Lakers, with how amazing JB Finals defense was on Luka, with how competitive Zarren/Wyc desire to make sure LAL can’t re-tie the Celts for all time title lead…
Jaylen probably is way less likely to be the cap casualty, if he ever was gonna be. Now that Luka is in LA we need JB more than ever for the next 3-5 years

Cap casualty will be Jrue and White.

Both Jays and KP will be the latest Big 3 of the Cs.

The 19th banner solidified the C's core being JT and JB going forward. Yes for the next 4 years they're gonna eat up 110mil to 130mil each year. Each year though the cap and the aprons will increase. But, what other PF/SF duo would you rather have at their current ages and locked up for the next 4 years. Voltron was a cartoon and plenty of teams tried creating Voltron and failed. They'll give you 70+games each year and there is (knock on wood) zero injury history. You're getting 50ppg between them plus defense and strength. The right pieces will need to be added to compliment them each year. They're a special duo with no baggage.

The cap will increase each year and when players are making 60mil per year their contracts will look like peanuts.

my money is on the Jays + White being this generation's Big 3.
Would love to keep Jrue and KP around but they are the training wheels, I feel

I wish I was older when I met Shaq, I had those zebra looking Shaq’s. Yeah I don’t know what they were called. Had I met him with those shoes and he said he’d sign something it would have been them or the jersey! Paper is cool if that’s all you have, but it’s easier to get wet, torn, thrown away or lost. Guess you wouldn’t see it on those, but I would have had a gold/silver marker with me just in case! I was young when I met Shaq and my auntie stole the card. She said she still has it, but hasn’t given it to me like she said she would. Gave me the dang plushie though. We got beef so I’ll never see it. :o

Shaqnosis were the shoes lol. Also most athletes now only sign black with black sharpies. Of course could have been different back then…
