I meant to post here sooner, but yeah this one was tough. I think the biggest thing is Uecker bridged together so many eras, phases of life, and people. I remember listening to him in the early 90s as a kid, with my Dad and my late Grandpa, into young adulthood and our revival in the late 2010s, on and on. He was always that one constant in current life that connected everything from years back. As someone said, our childhood died a bit more with his passing.
He was fantastic at what he did and hilarious obviously. He was Milwaukee through and through. Brewers have had players, managers, regimes come and go but Uecker was always there. You knew this day was coming but there was always a part of me that felt like he would be there forever.
What a run he had, his legacy will be forever, and thanks for the memories Uke.
