entertaining stuff from Real and City yesterday. Meanwhile Juve win 2-1 and Dortmund and PSG both won 3-0.

Brugge put in a great first half vs Atalanta but Atalanta still managed to make it to halftime level. should be a good second half, Brugge are no pushovers.

No particularly great matchups later

Pretty ridiculous stoppage time penalty awarded to Club Brugge which they score to secure victory. Should be a fun return leg

I have nothing against City fans but the teams fall is beautiful like Shakespeare poetry in my eyes. I dont mind the demise of people who don't follow the rules. Another terrible collapse was very fun to watch. :)

Theo sent off for simulation, brutal.

Bayern with the last minute equalizer to go through on aggregate over Celtic. Also brutal.

I don't think Bayern is a contender this year (despite final at home). Say about Tuchel whatever you want, but he had his team at 100% in big international games even when they were embarrassing themselves in the league (which is why I think England will win the World Cup next year).

Gutted for Celtic.
No luck for Atalanta between the two legs but credit to Brugge for finishing some nice counter attack goals.

Today I expect all the teams who won the first leg to win again...but it wouldn't be CL without a little drama so let's see. Forza Juventus.

PSG looks dangerous this year.
Seems they finally understood that just buying good ball players will deliver better results than buying the topstars that draw all the media attention to the point where it becomes a distraction for the team.

Inter the only Italian team to make it through to the Round of 16. This must mean Inter will win the whole thing. Good time to be a Dutch coefficient enjoyer, however.

Embarrassing for Milan and Juve. Juve lost this one as soon as Renato Veiga went down with injury. I believe it was vs PSV at the beginning of the season when Bremer tore his ACL... we just don't have enough healthy defenders to compete. In the end it came down to a Di Gregorio mishap. And at least we aren't as bad as Milan.
Serie A never deserved 5 CL spots to begin with, so heck with the coefficient thing...but SHEESH

Lots of young talent all over the pitch and multiple ways they can go forward and get goals. Undefeated since the November loss to Bayern. PSG will face Liverpool or Barcelona in the next round, what a reward for finishing 1st and 2nd in the league stage.

Matchups look really good all the way to finals. Only Barcelona has it bit easier.

I'm a big fan of this Club Brugge squad. They've certainly had chances to take the lead here ... 1-1 vs Aston Villa with 20 or so min left

edit:
pretty brutal own goal by the Brugge defender sees Villa take the lead

Great finish by Mechele, wrong net though. Gonna be tough to turn this over at Villa Park.
