Chicago - Toronto
Chicago trade: Williams, Smith
Toronto trade: Barrett
Why for Chicago: get out of the latter 2 years of Williams' contract. Barrett can fill up stat sheets/lead the tank next couple years
Why for Toronto: Add a back up 5 and improve perimeter D. Also helps them duck the tax next year

Chicago have a tank commander already, his name is Matas Buzelis. Andrew Wiggins 2.0 can stay in Canadia.

Re: Chicago - Toronto
I can’t see Toronto going for this. And I don’t think Chicago gets out of Williams contract that easy, nor do I think they even should try to.
The Bulls currently have like $125 million committed to their cap next season, and like $35 million (obviously this number will increase) the following season.
Not even looking at the draft prospects of 2026, they have the most obvious set up to truly tank. Not sure how it plays out, but it would be insane to try and retool/restock for them.

How is Buzelis a tank commander? He looks like an excellent prospect.
Checked out Vucevic is the tank commander.
As much as I'd love to get out of that Williams deal, he hasn't looked bad coming off the bench. Not worth his contract but I like Jalen Smith too much to use a collateral to get rid of Williams.

Good prospects can be tank commanders. See Cade Cunningham.

This trade is basically cap neutral (they add 2 mil in 26-27 but get off williams last 2 yrs). Barrett should help sell more tickets with his counting stats without affecting their tank.

What I mean is, Buzelis should be the one the Bulls use to "fill up stat sheets/lead the tank next couple years" the Bulls shouldn't be importing an expensive inefficient veteran to do it; especially as you note they already have Vucevic.

Hey now, be fair. The Pistons were wretched the last three years (Cade played two of them) because of the talent around Cade more than Cade himself. He’s a playmaker that really lacked play finishers to give the ball to and everyone suffered. Oddly enough, kicking out to Killian Hayes, Isaiah Livers, Marvin Bagley, James Wiseman and company didn’t lead to many points. So bad.

Re: Chicago - Toronto
It could work for the Bulls but with 9 guards now and not enough front court players, and they aren't worried about losing for a year
so you've got them giving up 2 guys that fit their future. That's why TOR wants them isn't it?
Plus they get themselves a TENTH guard. You need to come up with trades for at least 3 of Giddey, Dosunmu, White, Carter, Huerter, Terry and waive goodbye to Jones and THT. And while you're at it, find them a starting and backup center and a backup PF. then you can talk about your trade.

I am being fair. A tank Commander is the player who uses a bulk of the usage on a bad team.
That was Cade Cunningham to a T last year.

That’s the literal interpretation, and I agree some people use it that way.
But around here, it typically just means that the guy sucks and will help a team lose games by being extra sucky.
