Quin needs to let Kobe play. He is officially our backup PG but his role and skills are much more suited to SG. That can NOT be a problem if you don't expect him to play like a traditionnal, passing PG. Playing with Bog, Vit and Ris, the Hawks will have ball movement and dribbling. Let Kobe be the spark plug player that he is.

One thing I love about Kobe is his facial expressions...the look on his face after the fullcourt pass from Vit was awesome

Seems like the Hawks have really assembled a great group of players as far as personality and attitude...talent too

Because it needs to be said...yet again:

Kobe Bufkin is NOT a PG. He's a combo guard that can occasionally run point.
Same as Dyson Daniels.

Taking away the aggressive to score (similarly to Trae) to pass the ball to guys who can't hit a wide open shot is problematic.

I'm concerned that the Terance Mann and Dyson Daniels acquisitions make Kobe Bufkin completely expendable.

Even more so, if Caris Levert is re-signed.

Are they still going to try and force feed Bufkin into being a PG?

I think Quin needs to approach the backup PG minutes as a committee when Kobe comes back. Allow Bufkin to share the duties with DD or Vit. Don't try to force Kobe to be a traditional PG.

I believe that the offensive approach for Dyson should be the same for Kobe. Not a game manager or pure point, but can play as a secondary creator off of the gravity of the #1 guy.

And I'm OK with that.
I just need the non-Trae minutes to not be abysmal.

Right. That said, when the #1 guy is on the bench, they just play off each other. Kobe can be a strong 6th man scorer with defensive upside, and DD needs someone to help carry the offensive load. The two could really work well off each other.

They don't need to replicate the way Trae can run an offense. They just need to supplement his scoring impact(individual scoring, playmaking, and some shooting) to give him a breather. The defensive combo would be just as impactful. Kobe can really bridge the gap by being a microwave scorer that can defend off the bench with Mann, maybe Levert, and Mo Gueye.

I'm not sure we're on the same page.

IMO -- Kobe Bufkin should be the backup SG playing next to Trae Young when Dyson is off the floor. Kobe should literally just play like Dyson Daniels until he can establish his own offensive identity. (and fix that jump shot)

I wish Kobe the best of luck.
Time will tell what his future is. For now, we must use Terance Mann since he's on the books for $16m per year. Kobe needs to prove himself.

This is the level of production & efficiency I need to see from Kobe Bufkin as soon as next season -- if he wants to remain an Atlanta Hawks moving forward...
