Paul George has always been more about the excuses instead of winning

Remember after their all-time choke job in 2020 against Denver when his comments were like it wasn't that big of a deal saying it wasn't a championship or bust season for them....what a loser

Is he wrong though? In the article

16 games with Embiid 13.9 points 40% FG 31.6% 3FG
18 games without Embiid 18.9 points 45% FG 41.4% 3FG

Not making excuse for PG but Embiid hasn't been good either.

I think it's an adjustment playing offense through a post-up center like Embiid and 16 games isn't a long sample size, especially when those games aren't consecutive and have been sporadic due to injuries. Oh, and that post up center is a reduced version of himself while still trying to find it again.

It's really not that surprised that he'd struggle. It's an adjustment forced to be made on again-off again without any chance to build consistency. I have zero doubt that if both were healthy for a long period of time they'd find their groove.

“Absolutely,” George responded. “You know, absolutely. I’d be lying if I said I thought I came in here and I thought this would be an easy process. It’s been challenging. It’s definitely been challenging.

“But I’m here to learn and figure it out. He’s an unbelievable talent. He makes the game easy with just his presence, his attention that he draws. But it’s been a challenge.

So is it easy is or is it hard LOL

In all seriousness, his monthly splits have improved a lot (setting aside February since it's only the 12th):

NOV- 14.4/5.7/4.8 on .378/.286/.800
DEC- 16.3/5.5/4.7 on .426/.338/.774
JAN- 20.5/5.8/4.6 on .470/.447/.944
(Pts/Reb/Ass) - FG/3P/FT

If he could maintain his January numbers for the rest of the year, that's about what I would have expected this year from him in a generally positive (if not dominant) contribution. It's years 2,3, and 4 that I was worried about, especially years 3 and 4.

His FTA are declining due to age, the more that happens the less impactful he is and the more he is becoming Tobias George.

Got to blame someone, can't be Paul George's fault.

Eh, it all just looks messy right now. PG can't find a rhythm a lot of games but Embiid doesn't look like Embiid either for long stretches. They're constantly in and out of lineup and trying to adjust to full game speed, and playing with each other is just another adjustment over top of that.

Also gotta factor in Maxey and Oubre, who do a LOT of creating when PG and/or Embiid aren't available. They play at a different pace and attack the cup a ton, and it throws them off to have other creators (esp Embiid taking up the middle of the court).

It never is and never will be PGs fault.

Dude could go an eternity without recognizing he is the problem.

Feel bad for Philly fans

They cannot enjoy their Eagles Superbowl triumph for long cause their Sixers absolutely suck ass.

There is no salvaging this. Daryl Morey is an idiot. Imagine if he paid Harden this money instead.

PG knew he had to cash in with Philly.
Blame the front office, not PG.
Once he made it to Cali he was done. Philly just had a blank check waiting for him.

Playoff Pee with a whopping 2 points against BKN in a loss, lol.

The only thing very worse than being a sixers fan is probably being a Mavs fan right now.

NO WAY PG has fallen off this hard in the course of a year. I refuse to believe this.
