I wouldn't hesitate to offer Flagg for Ant if I got the #1 overall pick. Conversely, I wouldn't even consider that if I were Minnesota.

I’d much rather roll the dice on Flagg. Even if he doesn’t reach MVP heights, you can be pretty certain he’s going to be a great two way wing.
Ant is 23 and is coming off a conference finals run. Averages 27-6-6 on pretty much 50-40-90 sitting percentages while playing defense in the playoffs. But yea you've seen enough
I’m a Nuggets fan. We’re stuck paying Jamal Murray 50+ million over the next 4 years because of dumb analysis like this.
The regular season counts too, and the larger sample of games is more indicative of his actual talent level. Ant is a pretty good player who is never going to be a true superstar. I’ll take my chances with a cost controlled Flagg who is locked up for the next 8 years.
Jamal Murray is not in this conversation, on either side of the ball.
Most people don’t realize that Ant makes his leaps each season in January. Here are his splits
Jan. 43.9% 3P on 9.8 3PA, 5.8 RB, 5.8 AST, 30.3 PPG
Feb. 43.1% 3P on 12.8 3PA, 7.0 RB, 3.5 AST, 38.8 PPG
And he’s 23.

My point is, you can cherry pick small sample sizes and make all sorts of players look like superstars.
The NBA season is a marathon, and how a player performs on AVERAGE is what matters. I don’t care if they go on a heater for a month, or in a playoff series, or whatever. Lots of guys can do that.

Over the entire season, he’s #1 in the NBA in 3P’s, and #2 in points.
So, no. “Lots of guys don’t do that.”

Anthony Edwards 24-25
19.4 PER
3.8 BPM
.594 TS%
+ 3.5 on/off
These are good numbers, low end All-Star numbers, but I’m not trading the upside of Flagg for a player like that that. Sorry.

Something something cherry picked numbers….
Glad you’ve “seen enough.” That really moves the needle.
Also, you wanna talk about immature, Jamal Murray is a child. Throw another heat pack, Jamal.

To me cooper has a lot of risk. A bit of a tweener. Small PF. Just shot and handling gives him so hope he can play the 3.

Where’s the cherry picking? Those are literally Ant’s season averages. Would you prefer I post his even less impressive career averages?
And I don’t even know what your point is with Murray. That he’s immature? Okay. I’m not a big Murray fan, and I certainly wouldn’t trade Flagg for him.
As for who is more immature, Ant absolutely crushes Murray when it comes to baby mama count. He’s probably the league leader in illegitimate children per48.

What's Flaggs stats?
Comparing several players (Flagg, Banchero, Chet, Cade, & Edwards) on equal footing (in college) -> Chet appears to have the best statistical profile followed by Flagg.
Edwards generally has the worst statistical profile.

Good point, it’s not like NBA teams put a lot of resources into developing young players so they can improve after college

And it's not like Flagg will have those same resources available to him to continue developing after college....

Development isn't simple or linear - everyone who follows the NBA knows this. Comparing Flagg to Ant pre-development and ASSUMING Flagg will have the same kind of exponential growth path is a massive assumption, and risk.

And to the earlier point, why would MN do this without having their firsts? This is just a dumb idea and the wrong direction for the franchise.

I'll gladly take a potential warning to say that posts like this are why I'm glad I don't come here as often anymore.

And I don't even know if I would have traded Ant for effing Wemby either, but he's a good start if you're gonna consider this. My hunch is Flagg isn't quiteee him.
I'd also say, didn't you all already see Tatum go through the growing pains before winning a title? And supposedly most love Edwards over Tatum as is for his aura, but I digress.

Either way, I'm most certainly not out on Edwards, and definitely not trading him for someone who could be great, but might just be good.

Rockets happily send Jalen and Landale with Flagg for Ant and offers Minny a free suite for the NBA finals.
