It’s not our fault that you didn’t hand us over Cam Johnson before the trade deadline.

We tried ….

Tried? You watched us bleed second-rounders just to unload KJ Martin. We signed him knowing you’d trade for him— because his dad played for your franchise.

Yeah but on the other hand Mikal Bridges mom works for the Sixers and we didn’t fleece you for 5 FRP like we did the Knicks :D

Think about it—he could’ve pad his stats and chase for the MVP award, but instead, he sacrificed all the personal accolades just to help the team secure a top-6 pick. Even Embiid doesn’t love the team like that. My god, show some respect.

I retract my previous post.

I will continue to visit and post while Paul George is a Sixer. Honestly after reflection, I'm not mad at him. I have a new dream.

We need to give OKC the best draft pick possible, because they need it and deserve it. That's all I want this season.

True.

I'm still reporting it to D.O.G.E :x

If I could create memes, I have a ripper idea for this team. Know anyone who can edit the still image text in video memes?

We needed it more 8-)

The Sixers ruined the tanking option, but even if we are the 7th or 8th worst team, maybe we win the lottery and keep the pick. Unlikely we keep the pick, but we aren’t going to win anything anyway.

Already 6th and just 3 games out of 5th. All of the teams below us have a minimum of 2 or 3 and max of 5 games against each other so someone HAS to win those games. We also still have games against Raptors and Nets that if we lose those we can make up the gap easy.

It's possible, just need Nurse to put a mins cap on Maxey rest of the way.

I think the odds of getting a top 4 pick in the 6th position are ~35%. Not good but better than any alternative.

Wow, you need to go back 25-30 years since ESPN was into actual sports reporting, and SportsCenter was worth watching. I stopped watching it for anything besides games more than 20 years ago.

YES! I just saw this score from last night. Clutch loss! Looks like they have embraced the tank as Jo and Maxey sat it out.

Just call Embiid out for the year already. Or maybe the uncertainty leads to more losses?

Whatever it is, at least they are doing the right thing even if they don't want to.

Brings back memories, 20 yrs ago it'd be on in the student lounge and you'd just hit up the sports center hour broadcast between classes. Or better yet, the March madness frenzy days. God I'm old... and still waiting for the Sixers to do sh** right.

It’s mostly top 4 or bust. The odds of keeping the 6th pick are only 9%, so not good. If they don’t get into the top 4, they are most likely losing the pick.

Odds of top 4 are ~35% and keeping the 6th pick are ~9%, so finishing in the 6th worst position yields, about 44%, less than 50% chance of keeping your pick. And at 7th worst, it is only top 4 or bust.

The majority of the odds of keeping the pick are getting into the top 4.

The Sixers really screwed the pooch this season. They need to get extremely lucky in the lottery to salvage this season.

So, basically a coin flip to keep the pick. I don’t think that’s bad odds at all considering the alternative. They just need to keep losing.

If they are the 5th worst team, I would guess the probability of keeping the pick would be about 70%. The 5th worst team has a 42% chance at a top 4 pick. A 2% chance of staying put at the 5th pick. And about a 26% chance of dropping to the 6th pick. So I believe the 5th pick is a significant odds improvement for a top 6 protected pick. Toronto is 3.5 games behind us. It would be in the best interest of our team to fall into the bottom 5 due to the significant odds improvement that coincides with moving one spot higher into the protection range.

A high school friend's very first job out of college was with the fledgling ESPN in Bristol shortly after they went on the air, some time in the early '80's. He would talk about late night SportsCenters into the early morning with no one in the building but him and Chris Berman or Bob Ley, as he hustled for highlights and wrote script as Berman or Ley were doing SC, pretty much on the fly. I can remember getting home from partying late and watching that for a couple of hours. Fun times.

Getting to the 5th or 6th spot makes a big difference. Just have a ball on tank a thon. Even when we were 2nd lotto seed; I noticed how often the odds played out in favor of either the 5th or 6th seed teams jumping up. 5th seems to have the most luck the last few years of making a jump up.
