Pelicans/76ers

Post#1 » by louc1970 » Thu Feb 13, 2025 5:19 pm

After season trade - since neither team is heading anywhere:

76ers send Embiid
Pelicans send Olynyk, Missi, Williamson

Pelicans get out of Williamson's contract and move it for the center they desperately need. Pels can play Jones, Murphy and Embiid and have a strong 3-D team. Plus getting a top draft pick allows them to continue getting talent.
76ers decide it is time to change the offense from running through Embiid (when healthy) and turn the play over to Maxey. Willianson is either healthy or potentially cut with his non-guarantee. Stagnant ball moves over for a more up/down game.

Feel free to throw picks around and filler if necessary.

Embiid says he needs an offseason knee surgery. Not sure he will demand this type of value.

Yeah if Embiid does end up getting knee surgery this offseason, that probably pushes off any potential trade until at least the 2026 offseason.

As bad as this board perceives Williamson, maybe.

Lol this organisation suffered enough. If we traded for Jokic he would probably tear his ACL next game, imagine what would be with Embiid in New Orleans...

I’d rather keep the ability to waive Zion for nothing than take on Embiid’s contract and health as he enters his 30s

The Pels can get out of Zion’s contract anytime they want as he is not guaranteed. Embiid is WAY more of a risk than Zion. Makes no sense for the Pels direction either since they will be developing a top pick.

Missi probably has more value than anyone else in this trade and he still needs considerable development.
