Should the Mark Williams rescinded trade be added to the Brown Frown Hall of shame?

Re: Poll: Brown Frown Nominee - Mark Williams trade
yes, on every front
1) should never have been offered
2) the team keeps pushing to try and get the trade through
3) we're probably pissing Mark off in the process
4) we don't even have a starting level replacement if we do lose Mark one way or the other, and this draft doesn't look an opportunity to get one

Re: Poll: Brown Frown Nominee - Mark Williams trade
who is voting no on this? I would love to hear how this shouldn't be in the Hall of shame
It's a disaster on every front. Even if you were against the trade to begin with at this point it's still a disaster. Mark Williams' trade value is half of what it was before this trade. We don't know how damaged the relationship is now between Mark and the Hornets. Chances of us resigning him to a long term deal took a huge hit. Why would he want to stay with the franchise that tried to trade him like this? Not to mention the fact that what if it's possible the Lakers did find some degenerative chronic issues with his body that would cause long term problems down the road. If your rationale is simply that you think we can get him signed on a cheaper deal I don't think that offsets everything else. Not to mention on top of everything else the horrible pr disaster that has been for the Hornet's front office. Who knows what implications this will have down the road of teams trading with us.

Wavered a bit as I wasn't as down on the trade as most, but - yeah - crapshow - voted pro-BF.

Slightly OT but did we ever vote on the Kenny Atkinson appointment debacle?

I don't think a poll is required for that. First Ballot, unanimous all hall of brown

Perhaps we should put to the vote it should just be the 2021 draft in totality not just the first round. Early second JT Thor and Scottie Lewis another two bites that whiffed.

Re: Poll: Brown Frown Nominee - Mark Williams trade
Not voting, so not impacting the result, but this seems pretty different than most things that have previously been voted for for the hall of shame.
The trade situation is disappointing, but if it would’ve gone through, it’d be too early to vote on it, right? It didn’t, so fine, but of all the inept things the Hornets have done, we’re taking the Lakers narratives on this one? Just searching for ways to be disappointed now. such a constant buzz kill, everything has to immediately spin into worst possible scenario.
What if the league decides the lakers were acting in bad faith and the Hornets get a free pick for the trouble… still a brown frown?

we'll have to see what happens in the Terry Situation. That one definitely could make the list. Way too soon to even mention salaun. I mean We didn't even put Adam Morrison on the list. The PS5 incident I think was overblown and justice a miscommunication. It's not like we replaced Ashley with Shannon. We were never going to be able to keep Ashley. That was completely out of the control of the Hornets. that was all Ashley moving on to bigger and better things just like Stephanie Ready.
But Ashley should be inducted into the Hornets Hall of Fame along with Stephanie and Eric and and Dell and Steve Martin.

If somehow by some miracle the league actually punishes the Lakers and awards us a pick I will happily retract the brown frowned status of this trade. although if it's just a second round pick I think it still goes down as a brown frown incident. It does nothing to help fix the trade value of Mark. The only thing that's going to improve his trade value is his coming back to the team and balling out for the next few months.

This is a tough one. I mean he was God awful as an owner in the fact that we were terrible for 2 decades under his leadership falls on him. But he did do some good things in the community. Needed a ton of money in and around Charlotte and North Carolina. And he helped bring the Hornets name back although some of that kind of fell in his lap.

I don't think we need to do a complete revote, I can just change the name of the title to the 2021 draft. No need to limit it to just the awful first round.

Re: Poll: Brown Frown Nominee - Mark Williams trade
I voted No.
Mostly because I don't blame the Hornets for this **** show, and I think the Brown Frown should be reserved for when the team or players are responsible for the damage. If in the trade appeal process it comes out that Charlotte was withholding info or something it would be a 'Yes', but otherwise this situation was caused more by the Lakers reneging in my opinion. How was the team supposed to expect that LA was going to back out 72 hours after the deadline passed?

Re: Poll: Brown Frown Nominee - Mark Williams trade
I voted no because it's evident we didn't bring this embarrassment on ourselves and it's looking more and more likely the Lakers were shady. However if voting based on the premise of the trade itself, then I'd vote yes because I would not have traded healthy Mark Williams away.

I don't believe Mark is part of the solution here and I don't want to sign him long term. He has played 23 game for us this year and we are 4-19 in those games.
He doesn't put a body on anybody. Jonas V had a season high 17 rebounds vs us with 8 of those being offinsive rebounds in 28 min. Daniel Gafford had 31 and 15.
Every game I have watched Mark play in he has been absolutly abused defensively. He is not mobile and he gets bullied in the post.
If a guy can barely stay healthy through the regular season and struggles with the physical nature of the game in the regular season, he is not going to help in the playoffs.
