What's one of the most memorable games you ever watched?

Post#1 » by joesha1698 » Thu Feb 13, 2025 11:44 pm

One that comes to mind for me is when Kobe scored 52 in 3 quarters vs the Jazz. It was the 2006-2007 season. Kobe was coming off injury and was in his prime. The NBA had just switched to a microfiber ball and switched back a month later after complaints from the players in the league. In this game Kobe hit 10 or 11 straight baskets in a row with the microfiber ball. His legs weren't totally back yet but the skills, the grace, the aggression...only player to bring that type of mentality to scoring that we've seen is probably Jordan. One of my favorite games that I watched of his. For DBZ fans, Kobe has always reminded me of Vegeta. RIP, champ.

BTW: I think that microfiber ball would have increase scoring like crazy. For some reason it just seemed like it helped shooters. Though the players complained about its grip when dry and wet, rough texture, finger cuts, inconsistent bounce..

Bulls-Celtics in 2009 that goes into triple overtime.

1. Rookie Derrick Rose fast as hell.

2. Rondo and Hinrich almost get into a fight.

3. Ray Allen on fire.

4. Joakim Noah stealing the ball from Pierce and dunking on him.

5. Derrick Rose blocking Rondo’s game tying shot.

Raptors 76ers game 7. Being in that building prior to the shot was the most tense I’ve ever felt around a sporting event. Then the shot….

December 25th, 2008 in Cleveland because I was there. All the fans threw confetti up when LeBron threw his chalk, so cool. Game went down to the wire too.

On TV, I'd say the entire 2016 NBA Finals.

Watching archive footage, I'd say game 5 1989 of the 1st round, MJ's buzzer beater.

Stayed up till 1:30am on a school night watching this game, this is the moment Kobe became my favorite player. Watching Kobe dropping 50+ and will his team to a win in a double overtime, he just seemed to will the ball into the basket in a way no other player could or would try to.

Clippers / Rockets where there were a bunch of fights and Austin Rivers was trolling his dad trying to get him ejected. Someone tried to enter another locker room.

Warriors / Rockets opening week of 2018, was the first matchup between two goat level teams. Harden, Curry, Klay, Durant, Paul, Green all playing at peak / prime. Just a ridiculous amount of talent on the floor. Harden hit the contested game winner.

OKC should thank Damian Lillard for catalyzing the cascade of moves that resulted in their current roster, seeing as he put the nail in the coffin of the Westbrook/George edition.

As a bullsgan since the 80’s that is likely my favorite series ever even though the Bulls lost. So good. This game was so intense.
