controlled explosion...Suns

Post#1 » by Astaluego » Fri Feb 14, 2025 8:05 am

HEAT
In:KD
Out:Rozier/Robinson/Ware/SRP 31(Bucks)

Riley isn't getting any younger.. they get a superstar that in my opinion elevates them into contention...the Heat have some very good pieces to surround him.

Herro/Wiggins/Jazquez/KD/Bam

NETS
In:D.Robinson/SRP 26(Heat)+ SRP(SUNS)
Out:nothing

They move some of their cap space to 2026 and get paid for it..also a guy like Robinson especially expiring, will bring them foreign assets at the deadline.

BUCKS
In:Royce
Out: Connaughton

patching..gets a veteran 3D wing..all in all a better player to win now

SUNS
In: Rozier/Ware/Connaughton
Out:KD/Royce

Trade 2

HOUSTON
In:Booker/Allen
Out:J Green/Sheppard/JSmith/Landale/Zeller/
cancel the 2025 exchange pick

They consolidate, get the star they need to take the next step and a sniper

SUNS
In:Green/Sheppard/Smith/Landale/Zeller(Cut)/SUNS 27/29/cancel the 2025 exchange
Out:Booker/Allen

final result, with their selections back, one from the lottery this year, if they finally miss the Playoffs... a team with a very promising future and probably even better than the current one
and a healthy economy

Ware/Richards
J.Smith/Oso
Dunn/Connaughton
Green/Beal
Sheppard/Rozier

No shot that the Miami HEAT get Kevin Durant for two bad expirings, Ke'lel Ware, and a Second Round Draft Pick.

well you could be right but...KD will be 37 years old next season, he will be expiring and after the deadline it was clear that he is leaving Phoenix this summer... Who is outbidding..? Do you think there is a way to close the value gap? Maybe they send a FRP?.. Ware could be the best rookie in this draft in my opinion

I think 28 other teams would outbid you.

OP thought he was being cute by including a distant SRP.

That's going to cost the Heat their #11 pick and GS's #14 pick

also Booker is going to fetch soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much more than the pile of trash Houston is sending

Pat Riley won't give up two lottery picks or Ware for 37 years old Durant. He's probably worth a bit more than Butler but I don't believe any team would offer a fortune for him.

He is worth a lot more than Butler since KD isn't going to demand an extension.

I think end-of-lottery 1st, a distant 1st with some protections and decent salary is his value.

This is what I think his value is, though I don't know if the picks need to be unprotected.

1-2 future unprotected picks and salary which isn't negative. Definitely more than what Butler was traded for, similar to what Lillard was traded for. Teams aren't going to empty the kitchen sink here, nor should they. He is the final piece for a team trying to become a contender.

His contract expires in 2026. So he has no reason not to demand a contract like Butler. He is 37 years old and probably on his last contract.

Pile of trash is needlessly harsh ffs

Obviously any Booker to Houston deal is going to include their picks back. Jalen Green must be in the deal too, as he's the player who's place Book is taking. Sheppard and Jabari would be good assets to get back in the deal, though if I'm the Rockets, I'm doing my very best to hold back Jabari and keep him here.

Landale and Zeller aren't really worth much, so don't really serve a purpose in this other than salary filler.

KD will be ready to sign one more 2 year deal and probably end his career. The question is where can he do this and have a shot at the title. Personally I would like to see him return to OKC for the last hurrah. If not go to Dallas.

Except KD isn't the malcontent like Butler and the Age 38 rule exists.

No thanks on KD. I'll keep Ware and those expiring deals to maintain flexibility. I would hope we'd stay away and work with the young core we have.

The only teams I can see pursuing KD are in the top tier or just below the contenders. As a Suns fans I don’t expect a haul but would be good with young players/picks from Memphis/Houston/Orlando/Atlanta/Spurs.

Setting all the other parts aside, I am VERY intrigued by the concept of a frontcourt of Kel'el Ware and Jabari Smith Jr. moving forward.
Trying out this Substack thing. Suns and NBA thoughts. Check it out: https://hoopsnexus.substack.com/

I expect Heat fans see Ware > Durant.

No, we see 10 to 15 years of Ware better than 1 to 2 years of a very old Durant with a nice bit middling supporting cast around him and no resources to get it where he needs in the timeframe he needs.
