Shaquille O'Neal, TNT Agree To Long-Term Deal At $15M Per Year

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri Feb 14, 2025 5:54 pm

Shaquille O'Neal has agreed to a long-term extension with TNT worth over $15 million per year. TNT will begin licensing Inside The NBA to ESPN next season. While Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith and Ernie Johnson were already on long-term deals, O'Neal's status as the fourth member of the crew was unclear given his expiring contract.

O'Neal is believed to have a net worth of approximately $500 million.

Tom Brady is the highest paid sports media personality at $37.5 million per year with Fox. Barkley is No. 2 at $21 million per year, while Stephen A. Smith is on the verge of a five-year deal with ESPN that will pay $20 million per year. Tony Romo makes $18 million per year at CBS as Troy Aikman does at ESPN. Pat McAfee licenses his show to ESPN for $17 million per year.

I don't get the Stephen A. Smith deal. The dude just makes crap up and yells about it. If I want to hear someone pretend they know stuff, I can talk to my kids; If I want to get yelled at, I can call my dad.

His demographics is really young audience from 8 years and above. The 8 to 16 year old market is huge and his content is relatable to them since it's not that insightful. If you ever watch teenagers talk about NBA it's always GOAT discussion and lots of yelling.
