Hes the guy i want for us. He fits the gap we have been trying to fill with monk and after monk with just a ridiculous amount of non worthy players.

Still have Cooper, Harper, Ace and Kasparas above him.

I’m struggling to put him above Tre Johnson either, but after the Big 3, I wouldn’t be mad at anyone taking him 4th.

He's making jumpshots now which is nice to see.

His handle is still wildly unimpressive and bad.

I think his best role is as a 3D SG who can sometimes attack closeouts.

I still just don’t see his handle as bad as others.

It’s weak for sure, but not abysmal.

VJ is starting to show more self creation. With his athletic tools and knack for defense, he is firmly now a top 4 prospect in my opinion.

depends on what you view him as, it's not lead guard handle and probably not combo guard handle but he can make some things happen with the ball in space and when he's feeling it he can do things like that ^

As the guy who brought up Okogie in the first place, I should note that I had Okogie 14th on my board and I view VJ as a superior prospect who I've had top 5-10 all season. I was a big Okogie fan that year. His shooting never came around and to me that's really the only reason he hasn't hit in the NBA save for a few good moments here and there when his shot is falling. Of course that will be the case for VJ as well. He needs to become a reliable shooter to stick. If yuo think i was knocking VJ you're sorely mistaken. It was a very fair comparison imo.

Okogie = 40 dunks thru 61 college games; 50% rim finishing as a freshman, 53% as a soph (majority assisted)

Edgecombe = 25 dunks thru 22 college games; 62% rim finishing as a freshman (majority unassisted)

Explosiveness & defense seem to be a different level as well as the trajectory of 3 ball

Taking only 5 shots in 37 minutes when you are losing to a ranked opponent is a little odd.

I'm not 100% sold on Edgecombe. I think he's going to measure out around 6'3"/185 lb, which makes him physically similar to a guy like Monta Ellis. I wish he had a more advanced handle and a better first step. I wish he'd change speeds or directions more often. He's one of the best athletes in the NCAA, but he's going to need a higher skill level to make a consistent impact in the NBA at that size. Not saying he can't get there, but it's enough of an unknown to drop him a couple spots.

The good news, I guess, would be that if he does develop the ability to shake guys off the dribble he'll be a demon driving to the rim.

It's pretty obvious that Baylor trusts their point guard Robert Wright to create with the ball, while they treat VJ as a primarily off-ball player.

I think the hope for him after his bad start was that he'd have the development trajectory of someone like Donovan Mitchell where he improves a ton in a short period. I think the elite athletecism with very good coordination is something they share and that allows for some outlier growth. I don't think he will be that level of player, but I am so happy that he is looking reasonable in the range a lot of us had him after the Olympics. I need to catch a couple games to decide how high to move him, but what I've seen is promising.

VJ continues to show improvement. Clear number 4 pick in this draft.

Unless i am missing something he made only one shot that wasn't a catch and shoot 3.

VJ, Kasaparas, and Tre are my 3-6. I think I prefer Tre the most as of now with him slightly edging out VJ and Kasparas a close 3rd out of the 3.

Same for me.

If Tre measures 6'6 and VJ measures small I go Tre, VJ, KJ.

Top 6 of this draft is strong. After its a mixed bag. My Bulls should trade back if they don't land in the top 6 and get two picks and take swings on Noa, Riley, Fears, Malauch, Bryant, etc.

Is he a similar prospect to Jaden Ivey?
