What does improving the size and talent of bigs have to do with OO? Everything is not black and white. Maybe learn to live in the grey and you'll have a more flexible view of things

It's funny.

After last night's dominant performance against the best defensive big man in the world, I was coming to ask the board if we're finally sold on Onyeka as the starting Center.

I have been a hard critic of JJJ and mainly due to his rebounding, but he is so good at everything else. His teammates have greatly helped his game too.

Our FO doesn't appear to have an eye for big men. I understand passing on Alex Sarr since he said he didn't want to be a Hawk.

Jokic and now Wemby, but our FO ignores a glaring issue.

Pretty big fumble not grabbing one of the bigs from the top-20 of last year's draft class.

I watched the game.
I like Derik Queen very much and his toughness. He's listed at 6'10" but I look forward to seeing his true measurements.

Man no love for Rocco Zikarsky?! I think he's a better prospect than Maluach. He's been dealing with a knee injury, but he still should be in heavy consideration for one of our FRP's.

This year's draft is really weak with post players. In any other draft Thomas Sorber would probably go late 1st round, but because of the lack of depth in centers, he might go lottery.

Sorber is an undersized center who is also not an amazing athlete. With that said, Sorber plays old man ball or throwback 80s basketball. He reminds me of a center version of Zach Randolph. I wouldn't be upset if the Hawks took Sorber but he also doesn't get me excited like how Walker Kessler got me excited years ago.

Ryan Kalkbrenner is another guy the Hawks should target. If the Hawks pass on Sorber, they could maybe trade down and grab Kalkbrenner in the late first round. Kalkbrenner reminds me of Tiago Splitter or Kyle Filipowski but better shot blocker.

Ok so alot of these bigs are too raw to take in the top 10. Not a good use in the pick with the lowest usage player on the court... Then the injury issues that comes with 7ft and taller guys is too high for my liking.

I wouldn't take Maluach with a top ten pick in this draft. With the Sac pick sure, but it's too many better fitting and talented prospects otherwise. RN with the higher of the two picks I have:

1. Queen
2. Malauch
3. Sorber
4. Wolf
5. Raynaud

Since 2008, there have been 10 drafted true-high-major underclassmen, standing 6-foot-11 or taller, to:

  1. record a box plus-minus of at least 4.0,
  2. take 1.0 or more 3-pointers per 100 possessions,
  3. record a block percentage of at least six percent
  4. and an offensive rebound percentage of at least seven percent.

If he maintains his above-those thresholds to finish his season, Maluach will be the 12th player to join this club—one that holds each player in the NBA to this day.

Ryan Kalkbrenner if we get back in the early second round.

Clingan looking absolutely dominant early on the defensive end.
Sarr looking like hot garbage as a rim protector.

Donovan Clingan has only started 11 games this season. Just wait until he's the full time starter.

20 boards is his high this season against Denver 2/12.

Look at those three Celtics bigs on the good side of the chart. We need some of those

Taken from the General NBA board.

Maryland men's basketball head coach Kevin Willard believes that Terrapins freshman center Derik Queen would be the No. 1 pick in the draft if he was European and white, per comments made to Matt Norlander of CBS Sports.

"If he was European and white he'd be the first pick in the draft," Willard said to Norlander, who penned a profile of Queen that published Thursday. "He gets a little penalized because he doesn't have the greatest athleticism. He has better ballhandling skills than most guards, he's like a 15-year-vet in the fact he knows and understands the game."

The 6'10", 246-pound big man is averaging 16.0 points on 54.9 percent shooting and 8.8 rebounds for the No. 20 Terrapins, who have won seven of eight games to move to 10-5 in the Big Ten and 20-6 overall. Queen has been phenomenal over Maryland's last three games, posting 23.7 points and 13.0 rebounds.
