I want neither. Pax was okay, but in combination with Gar he was awful. They were famous for taking the 2nd round of the draft off or taking the tdl for granted, at least there where rumours from Gar like that. After 5 seasons of incompetent management it would finally be the time for MR to recognize they are bad. Damn hiring BD and even worse extending himbfir bad results was devastating and still is. I would much rather have Udoka here over BD

At this point, both front office teams are trash.

Add Jerry Krause to the poll just to make it really interesting and showcasing the history of GMs in Chicago.

Re: Which front office would you rather have running this team?
Gar/Pax had no direction and weren't good at anything in the 2010s. AKME lost all direction shortly after being hired as well. It's not a coincidence here as both push to win and refuse to tank under the orders of ownership. They both were awful but at least Gar/Pax wouldn't make consistent bad decisions every move they made.
The real problem lies with the ownership who doesn't care about winning but profits when other sports ownership teams realize winning 1st, giving the fans what they want results in you bringing in profits later.
No matter who is in charge, the results will be the same under this ownership group.

Can votes be public? I want to know the 3rd of the 3 votes for AKME.

Rod Thorn drafted Jordan. So I'll take him.
On a serious note what made Paxson bring Gar in to help him run the team in the front office? Was it the move of trading out Chandler and Aldridge for Ben Wallace and Tyrus that just didn't work out, just being able to find the right coach to put it all together or something else?

He hated talking to the media so as team president he could have a more behind the scene role.

I'd rather have paxson without gar, but garpax over akme, definitely.
I doubt garpax would've stood pat for 3 years after ball went down. They would've at least tried to add depth in places of need and definitely wouldn't have been so willing to give up picks. I also doubt williams would've gotten the contract he did, if garpax decided to resign him at all.

Re: Which front office would you rather have running this team?
At 2017, the old FO had made the playoffs 13 out of 15 seasons and was considered a very good (but not top tier) FO but definitely one of the better ones in the league. They won Executive of the Year along with Pat Riley, to be considered tied with Pat Riley says everything you need to know about the amount of respect you had league wide.
The hatred Chicago fans had for the old regime was a Chicago specific thing that wasn't reflected nationally. It wasn't a championship level org, but generally considered the tier below.
In contrast, the current Bulls FO is considered one of the worst in the league, and not the absolute worst only because of the Luka disaster.

And he punches VDN in the looker room for playing Noah above minutes restrictions. But at the time we all think that Gar would be just a poppet. With the time things changed, I guess.

I'll take Paxson from 2003-2009 back. Otherwise I'll stick with the current front office, begrudgingly. As bad as AKME are It doesn't seem they are anywhere close to the level of toxic that was the GarPax regime from 2011-2019.
Also post Jimmy they forgot how to draft and were lost on how to build a team in the new pace and space era. The success we had in that era was largely the work of Paxson 2003-2009.

I think most would take Paxson alone due to his draft strategy of drafting/signing rookies out of winning situations to help change the culture of the bulls. Only really bad move he did was trading out Aldridge for Tyrus in terms of that strategy.

I voted AKME but squarely because of Gar...from everything that came out from the GarPax regime, he was the absolute worst of them all and I wouldn't want him anywhere near my organization and would rather have AK and Eversly, just as dudes who I think want to do the right thing.
I would rather have idiots run the franchise then Gar, who already was...but added insult to injury with his outlook on player relations. Maybe some of what was said is not completely true or exaggerated...but it all sounded trash.

Re: Which front office would you rather have running this team?
GarPax ran a fairly high level operation (not elite, but upper tier) until they fired Thibs (if not, starting with Ron Adams). VDN hiring and choking/firing was puzzling... and the 05 roster flamed out, but I was pleasantly surprised how they kept salvaging parts (Brad Miller, Salmons, Thabo for what became Taj).
Hard to say they were anything but a bottom-5 FO between 2015-2020. 5Y+ of bad drafting, losing all their assets for nothing and cap blunders (Wade, Sato, Felicio) plus middle-road moves (taking RoLo’s salary instead of just dumping Rose). The Otto trade. Terrible picks… lot of bust prospects. Hoiberg to Boylen. Bad development.
I mean, we didn’t want them fired for 2005-2015. It was the next half decade.

At least AKME swings and misses. GarPax couldn’t even do that. AKME for me and I can’t stand either.I believe that if we actually had a contender, AKME would have found us a shooting guard that isn’t Keith Bogans.

I think it also depends if you think passing on future MVPs for "winning" players is something that your okay with because the "winning" players didn't bust.

Re: Which front office would you rather have running this team?
The trouble with this question is that the sample size with FOS is virtually nonexistent, by which I mean that FOs make very few truly meaningful decisions (an elite player picked up in the draft, a major trade that turns out right), and even those are largely luck. So, who is good? It's like trying to pick a mutual fund manager.
Thus, until a few years ago we would have said "Man that AK guy in Denver is good, we want him," and before that we would have said "There's nobody better at drafting than GarPax." So, we go both of our dreams -- and they sucked.
