I'm a big Chris Paul supporter and will usually defend him at every length. And this isn't the worst thing he's ever done, but stuff like this makes me want to barf. There actually are some people out there who would love an opportunity to do something like this. Making a mockery out of it irks me to no end.

Very amusing.
Corporate trying to get Wemby and Paul to win so they fixed things.

Does anyone like the skills challenge? Change it to something that require real dribbling. There’s already a shooting contest.

It's not their fault if the rules for the contest were dumb.

It's fine, the more events the better

Yo this is even worse than the Dunk Contest. I never thought you could make the Skills Contest a sham but here it is.

It's a dumb rule to begin with.

The player not participating should be rebounding misses until the contestant makes his shot. Rebounding is a skill too.

Never said to cancel the event, just great dribbling. Like real skills.

I didn’t see the event. What was that loophole they were exploiting?

It wasn't, if you miss 3 shots you can just move on. So rather than shoot 3 shots, they just threw the balls off the racks without looking since that's technically a "miss".

Wemby’s idea? It was clearly impressed upon him by CP. that’s for certain

It was an oversight by whoever set up the event. Wemby was trying to find a way to win, and has the biggest "do anything to win" freak with him to reinforce it. If the NBA and it's fans want these players to take these events seriously again, you need those that are doing whatever they can to win and they should be empowered not DQ'd.

The rule should have been they needed to make the shots. If someone with more than two braincells would've set up the event, they would have just had a full rack with a rebounder there just in case they miss 5 times. At that point if you miss 5 times in row, you deserve to lose time waiting for the rebound.

At first I thought this was grimy behavior, but then I thought why should we shun someone that's actually trying to care about winning in events that have had their integrity sullied due to people not caring?

Do better, NBA.

I watched the video. But how did intentionally missing the shots help them

Chris Paul should have been a vet mentor and said no to this, and told wemby it was a bad idea and not went along with it. But I don’t believe for a second it was wemby’s idea anyway. Just the career loser doing career loser ish. Hopefully his dna doesn’t rub off on wemby any further before he gets out of the league.

This was the most interesting and entertaining part of the Skills Challenge. I wish it counted this time because of loving strategies, and then the nba just made the rule more obvious for future years.

2nd most entertaining part of the competition was Dray knocking the balls off the rack on accident.

Overall, made for a more entertaining Skills Challenge than usual, which is typically the least entertaining event.
