In my experience you're also not a jerk so that may also make it hard to relate.

Against UTA? He scored an extra 5 points for one game. Maybe Sham should hold off on celebrating anything for a minute.

I will play the devil's advocate here... I really don't understand people's animosity towards him. I don't follow him too much but he doesn't seem like an extremely unlikeable dude (e.g. Embiid, Harden, LeBron level).

Sure, he is one of the biggest frauds ever but the amount of hatred he accumulates... I don't get it.

I agree with this sentiment. The level of venom at him is at a ridiculous amount. I understand Sixers POV but at the national level?! Sh.it Miles Bridges doesn't this much hate.

With that being said, Ben Simmons would be the perfect compliment piece on this current roster. Yes, he can't shoot for his life but his DPOY level defense, his ball handling and passing skills compliments our players really well.

This country is full of horrible, nasty people.

Imagine sending someone you don't know a DM to threaten their lives because you didn't hit on a 10 leg parlay with insurmountable odds. no, maybe you should go kill yourself for being so stupid with money you couldn't afford to lose. I never bet a dime that wasn't gonna miss.

Mother f*ckers can't read past the 6th grade level, but they sure know how to send death threats. It's a shame that the people doing this aren't thrown head first into prison

People who do this need a stiff punch in the face.

Right. Maybe if they learned about consequences earlier in life they wouldn't be such pieces of garbage.

Ben legit has mental health and physical issues. Seen it first hand. While I'm not a fan, I think the vitriol towards the guy is a bit much. He doesn't say much and he isn't some jerk that does stuff like, I dunno, assaulting women and children.

He would have been a good pick up to help with wing defense but offensively he hurts spacing too much unless you play him at C.

Does anyone know how the NBA chooses its all star cities??

I started following since 1995, in the 30 years, I've seen some cities like LA, NY, GS hosting AS multiple times, but other cities didn't get even 1 like Detroit, Vancouver, Memphis, Milwaukee, Portland, Sacramento, Seattle, OKC, even bigger cities like Boston, Miami.

My issue with him is how he handled his mental stuff.
You are being paid millions, one of the highest paid in the league.
You say it's mental health keeping you from playing -- okay sure, but...
He would not consent to the team doctors being involved or kept in the loop.

None of us has that privilege, to take a mental health holiday(legit needed, or not) and be paid 100% without our employers being in the loop to some degree.
Medical leave (which this would fall under) would mean he is only entitled to a far reduced amount:
Per google search AI
In New York, you can receive up to 67% of your average weekly wage while on Paid Family Leave (PFL). The maximum benefit amount varies by year and is based on the New York State Average Weekly Wage (NYSAWW).
2024 benefit

In 2024, the NYSAWW is $1,718.15, so the maximum weekly benefit is $1,151.16.

That's where my issue with him comes in. He seemed to not like criticism, then he wanted to do something on his own terms while feeling that he should be paid full (for like a year). That's just not something any of us can relate to.

The Knicks shoulda signed McLung around end of January, early Feb so he could don the Knick jersey in the Dunk contest... I'm sure that's what the Magic did, just to promote the team's brand and sell merch

I remember the Chicago owner said something along the lines that they don't get to keep any portion of the revenue during All-Star weekend.
