If Mac competes next year, the field will bow out.

Re: 2025 Regular Season Thread Vol. 8
With all due respect to Herro, this was a very down year for the three point competition. Under a normal scoring system with no Starry balls and only 5 money balls, Herro would've had 15 points or less in the final round. And the 2nd place guy in the final round missed a whole rack. Slightly off topic but, having the money ball rack be the last rack shows why these guys are just dumb basketball players instead of having a job that requires intelligence. Why would you have the rack with the most points be the last rack which you might not have time to finish? That makes no sense. I think I heard they do that because they thought they would be in the best rhythm by that rack. Since nobody made all 5 balls in the final rack, I would say that they thought wrong. There was only 1 perfect rack in the whole contest. Maybe they should've not worried about getting to all of the balls. Maybe they're missing because they're trying to get to all the balls. But if they had the intelligence to think of that, they wouldn't be dumb basketball players.

Re: 2025 Regular Season Thread Vol. 8
So Heat have the most 3 point comp wins (5), and I think they kinda have most skills challenge (3), though because the comp has changed here and there, it could be Utah.
Heat have had Wade x2, Bam x1 win. Utah had Deron Williams win one, then Dame Lillard (Portland) and Trey Burkes (Utah) win one, so that is either 1/2 or 1 to Utah, but then the Utah team won one which is 3 players each sharing a trophy. So 5 players having a 3/3, 1/2 and 1/1 share in 3 trophies.
For the record, Knicks hold the slam dunk comp record with 5 wins. I think Orlando and Atlanta have 4, Heat have 3 (as did others I think). Lost interest counting after I saw Heat didnt win.

Why don't I remember Shane Jones? Is he a glitch in the matrix? Did I get sucked into a parallel universe? I had never heard that name until the TNT announcer listed all the Heat players who have won the 3 point contest. Maybe TNT made a mistake?MartyConlonJr wrote:So Heat have the most 3 point comp wins (5)...

Credit to Rapaz for earlier:
1995 - Glen Rice
2007 - Jason Kapono
2009 - Daequan Cook
2011 - James Jones
2025 - Tyler Herro
Either you misheard or they made a mistake. It would have been James Jones I assume.

Losing 11 of 16 makes us a bottom 5ish team winning percentage wise. Now all we need is some lotto luck!
Beware March.
The following is the breakdown of home & road games by month this season. Home games listed and road games in parenthesis. Feb was always gonna be a rough slate for this squad--esp once the Jimmy stuff went down. March sees the most home games of the season (and most overall games).
Oct = 3 (1)
Nov = 5 (8)
Dec = 6 (7)
Jan = 8 (8)
Feb = 3 (9)
Mar = 12 (5)
Apr = 4 (3)

Incoming Bam 3pt shootout award next year.
DPOY would've been counted so he can tie Herro.
