Well after his agent and probably personal trailer, nutritionist & taxes. He is probably making under 100,000.

Why he will most likely be back next year. He gets his annual salary for less than an hour of work.

it is kinda unfair though that this guy basically trains for dunking for a living and competes against other players who don't. But I guess it's all they have if they want to keep the dunk contest going.

Agents only get 3% in NBA related contracts. Taxes. He's on a two-way with Orlando (no-state income tax for at least half the games). Nutritionist, he's still a part of the Orlando Magic organization. I'm pretty sure he's not making under 100. If someone is making 500K and their take home pay was under 100K, that literally makes no sense.

Isn't he averaging like 24 points a game in the G-League? People are making it sound like he's just a mascot, being called up only to perform tricks.

Yeah, he was last years MVP of G-League. So basically 1 slot below worst player in the NBA, but realistically probably NBA calibre, given dead weight contracts and rookie contract players that people haven't given up on due to sunk cost yet.

all they have?

big respect to Mcclung he's a hell of a dunker, nothing against him but the point was watching stars compete in the dunk contest and not a bunch of nobodies who aren't actually NBA players, it's just ridicilous. no1 wants to watch that...

I like how he seems to have really reprised this role as dunk contest specialist.

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

Here is an example of a players salary breakdown:

Jayson Tatum:

$62.8 million: Annual Salary

$23.2 million: Federal Taxes

$4.7 million: Jock Tax (imposed by various states and cities)

$8.1 million: Escrow and Agent Fees

$1.4 million: FICA/Medicare Deductions

Its also been reported Chris Paul spends about $1 million on body maintenance ranging from trainers, nutritionists, massage therapists. Despite having access to team facilities. LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, Damian Lillard, Enes Kanter and former basketball player Dwayne Wade are just some of the NBA players known to have personal chefs.

Cashing in on what seems to be his only skill. Whatever pays the bills.

All star contest prizes aside, he might be financially be better off filming "viral videos" of himself dunking on guys in some streetball pick ups.

Exactly.

He was MVP of the G-League. He can play.

I do think the NBA thought this will be cute, now we can't get him to go away. He has now dominated for 3 seasons. Making the "real" NBA guys looks stupid. I love it. I guess some people don't like it.
