Under a normal scoring system with no Starry balls and only 5 money balls, Herro would've had 15 points or less in the final round. And the 2nd place guy in the final round missed a whole rack. Slightly off topic but, having the money ball rack be the last rack shows why these guys are just dumb basketball players instead of having a job that requires intelligence. Why would you have the rack with the most points be the last rack which you might not have time to finish? That makes no sense. I think I heard they do that because they thought they would be in the best rhythm by that rack. Since nobody made all 5 balls in the final rack, I would say that they thought wrong. There was only 1 perfect rack in the whole contest. Maybe they should've not worried about getting to all of the balls. Maybe they're missing because they're trying to get to all the balls. But if they had the intelligence to think of that, they wouldn't be dumb basketball players.

Lmao this has to be a troll post.

I get it. Sometimes you wake up and your body is cooked. Shame he didn’t announce this earlier.

What a bad weekend for the NBA

For starters the competing product had one of the most exciting All Star games sports has ever produced

The upcoming future face of the league got DQ’d for trying to cheat the system in the skills competition

The Dunk contest was won by a non NBA player for the 3rd straight year, and no star player participated

The All Star game will likely be a flop

NBA needs a complete restructuring in the next CBA. Need stronger contract controls for teams to get guys to play hard, also the league needs a clause in there for players to have to perform if selected to represent their team. Lastly I need a 1on1 tournament get rid of the all star game entirely.

We are definitely heading to a lockout at some point, and it’s probably needed

I have been trying to theorycraft on the general board how this makes financial sense for the league currently, and the best I can come up with is they're following the model video games do when they start to rely on microtransactions, targeting whales to keep the product afloat. For the NBA, this means targeting the people who can still afford to attend games in person as the ticket prices have gotten completely unaffordable for anyone in what's left of the disappearing middle class, or the people who will seek out all the different streaming subscriptions required to get all the games, since normal TV is sort of dying out. And you cater to that fan, and try to milk them dry, and I guess in the short term its working since the TV deals are getting larger.

But in the long term, as it shows with video games, its usually the first sign of impending doom, as you start to ignore your larger playerbase in favor of the "whales". But yeah, I can't see things continuing like this another 10 years for the NBA. Either there's going to be big changes, or a long lockout and the first dialing back of player contracts we'll have seen in our lifetimes.

The NBA and NFL are tied for worst all star game/weekend in North American sports..

NHL and MLB are ahead of them. Baseball stays classic to their values of homerun derby and an exhibition baseball game played with full effort.. NHL 4 nations cup will always get people fired up

I have watched the MLS all stars vs Liga MX all stars game and that is more exciting than the bs the nba and nfl puts on.
