I liked both of those. I'm pretty sure you meant The Haunting of Bly Manor. Random fact of the day, I know someone that just missed out on the role of Flora Wingrave (the daughter). Did you try this yet?

[img][/img]

I enjoyed it as much as the Night Agent. Season two was really short unless it's releasing more episodes later.

I just finished "The Recruit". It was good. It felt a little rushed at the end; almost like they had to stay on budget and were running low on funds. But, I liked it. I wonder if there will be a season 3? I just started "The Haunting of Hill House" which came out before "Bly Manor". It's by the same author of the book and so far just as creepy, but more sad, so far anyway.

So sick right now. Just a few minutes west of where I drive weekly, a DUI Driver killed a mother and her 4 kids. Please Hug your family every day. Can't even imagine this pain for the father. This is also SB Sunday, please be careful and take no chances *If Drinking*

I agree. I wonder if the second season is only half way released. I don't know, but that's how it feels and it was only 6 episodes which is about half as many as season one.

I actually liked "The Haunting of Hill House " more than"Bly Manor". There's a moment in the show that will stay with me forever. No spoilers, but when you finish let's compare notes!

I know! I watched it when it first came out, so it's been a while, but...

Spoiler:
I will never forget the scare I got when the ghost/creature popped up in the back seat of the car. it was the best jump scare I've experienced. Then there was the big reveal at the end that really took me by surprise! I've watched so many of these types of shows that I think I know what's coming. Not this time! I'll just say the reveal of "Stretch" wasn't on my radar! I don't want to say too much in case someone looks at the spoiler who wants to watch the show.

I put this here a while back, but the same people made this limited series as well that I thought was excellent.

They also made Midnight Mass, which was pretty good. I still think The Haunting of Hill House was my favorite.

So many moments. The pregnancy scene was insane. Yes the ending was crazy. I will be watching again, because my wife has only scene the first episode, so I am sure I missed something; there was a lot going on. Midnight Mass was great. It briefly traumatized my wife, haha. I will check out the Haunting of the House of Usher.

Watched The Gorge on Apple last night. New movie with Anya Taylor-Joy and Miles Teller. Lots of action and some creepy sci-fi/horror elements. The plot is pretty silly but it's a good time if you ignore that part.

Pumped for some other viewing this weekend. Season 3 of Yellowjackets, the season finale of the new Dexter series, new season of White Lotus, etc. Woot woot.

Anyone here watch Joe Pickett on Amazon Prime? If you do, why didn't you tell me it's a good show?! If you don't, check it out. I sadly have only 3 episodes left of the series since they cancelled it after just 2 seasons.

Also started watching The Pitt on Max. It's like 24 (in that it's "real time"), but set in the ER of a Pittsburgh hospital. So basically, they depict what goes on in an ER for a 15-hour shift. Starring the dude on Falling Skies and a bunch of actors I don't recognize.

Cobra Kai ending was great! Apple Cider Vinegar (Kaitlyn Dever) was an interesting, entertaining watch.

Couple of foreign movies I'd recommend: Past Lives (re-watched this, still really good), The Promised Land/Bastarden (Mads Mikkelsen), The Teachers' Lounge, Lucca's World.

Watched "The Teachers' Lounge" tonight, thought it was excellent. Not a fan of the resolution but the other 99% was super tense and so well done. My type of movie.

If you're a fan of Mads Mikkelsen, I strongly recommend "The Hunt" (also a tense plot in a school environment).

It's a long time ago since I've seen it (and my memory is really really poor hehe) but I do remember loving The Hunt. My IMDb rating for it agrees (8/10).

Sometimes you just want a movie without the frills and stands on the strength of its simple plot and interaction of its characters. The Teachers' Lounge succeeds in that.

That's all I want from a film at this point in my life to be honest. No longer care about the frills or the hype or the household names.

If you're into political thrillers, Zero Day with Robert De Niro, Jesse Plemons, and Lizzy Caplan was an okay watch. Court of Gold, the Netflix documentary on Paris 2024 Olympic bball tournament was really well-made even though none of our Celtics players were featured pfft.

I'm midway through Zero Day. I started out thinking it was amazing but the random conspiracy guy on TV is stupid. Like why would they even be watching that guy? (let alone he seems to be on every TV in every government building 24/7.) Dude is ruining for me. But I still have half the show to watch.

Edit: finished it up. Got over the annoying conspiracy character (I probably didn't need to be so annoyed with that in the first place haha). But in the end I just wanted the show to be better than it was. Very political but I didn't really think they got the politics right, and kinda forced a corny moral to the story. The plot was just not quite there imo.

Don't remember if anyone has brought up Paradise but it is excellent. Writing is excellent. If the first episode doesn't draw you in, I don't know what will.
and that's "MR. Irrelevant" to you!!

I watched this last night and loved it. Had a headache and wanted something short and low-key. There's no human dialogue at all, so it was perfect for me. But even if you don't have a headache, check it out haha. Very special and memorable.

Maybe the machines take over and we end up with the Matrix or Skynet, but I hold out hope that AI will mainly just bring us all pointless little nuggets of nothing that briefly make us smile.

On a side note, some people clearly have too much free time.
