Kind of have a hard time free agency being what it use to be. restricted trade rules like removing the 125% matching and apron rules takes a lot of teams out of free agency.

Use to be able to salary dump your way into free agency or take advantage of matching rules in sign and trades. Now only two teams max likely have cap space.

For players, means they are are losing a negotiation advantage and will have smaller annual amounts imo.

Also means that the Lakers can't just go buy whoever they want!

My guess is we tell Myles what we will offer him and put it on the table. We then give him the ability to shop around and see if a team can exceed that amount in some sort of S+T offer. If they can and he truly wants to leave,
