And traded Vince for an actual return.

Hire Rob Babcock and Fire him again same day right after he accepts the job just for that!

What's crazy is I remember in the summer of 2004, there were talks of Raptors trading Vince for Ray Allen.

In fact Ray Allen said he was open to playing for us.

Imagine how different the NBA would look.

The Celtics super team would have never formed and instead you would have a contending Raptors team with Bosh and Allen.

If the Raptors did draft Iggy in 2004 and traded for Allen...Allen, Bosh and Iggy would be a pretty awesome big 3 that maybe could have a finals run.

I honestly wish we had hired DR. J and Vince stayed and revived his career with us. Vince and Iggy on the wings with Bosh would be crazier lol the highlights alone.

Dr. J never got that opportunity so I can still hold him on a pedestal hahaha.

We had by far the most incompetent management in the NBA and a total fool and incompetent in Babcock...
Vince with any semblance of talent around him and raps were golden...

I watched that draft in a cheap hotel room in North Dakota. My only question at the desk was if they had ESPN..

Raps took both Joey Graham and Charlie V ahead of Andre Igoudala. Bad night to say the least.

Iggy was the 04 draft blunder when we chose Hoffa.

With hindsight, Danny Granger (who we passed on twice) was probably the smart pick in 2005; even with his eventual injuries.

Sold high on Charlie V, and it worked out, Fordarone is still one of our greatest PG duos and was specially because their play styles were completely different and changed the tone of the game multiple times in a single game and threw other teams into chaos trying to plan for it.

At the time we were desperate for a PG and Center, and BC knew we had Parker and Garbo coming in so Charlie V was the obvious trading chip to get one of those positions (it was also known CV had a questionable work ethic).

At the time Ford was 2 years in the league, was Bosh's best friend, and had unlimited potential. The trade was awesome but it did suck losing CV at that time. He proved EVERYONE wrong.

Sadly enough, Ford, Bosh and Bargnani never turned out to be long term pieces, with each leaving within 5 years.

Ford was really damn good and had all-star potential in my opinion - lightning quick, shifty, fantastic mid-range game, could get to the basket and good vision. Also a very solid defender. That 2006-2007 season he was fantastic.

It's honestly sad he had so many injury issues and that neck/head condition or whatever that would temporarily paralyze him.

I looked at fords numbers because of all the hype surrounding him at the time and they actually weren’t that great.

I mean he platooned with Calderon and it was more about the duo destroying teams with completely different team play styles when one subbed in, but TJ was pretty impactful when he played and part of that ultimate team chemistry of 06-07.

man that year had so many buzzer beaters and heroics with different players each night, love that year.

I remember the Araujo/ Bosh/ Charlie V starting lineup, and then the discourse of how Bargnani Bosh and CV could play together.

This organization used to be so weird

I thought the same at the time. I hated VC for how he quit trying, but on the other hand I thought if the superstar wants Dr J, hire Dr J. They could have actual GM type in the office running things (but not Babcock), with Julius a figurehead
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.
