Hot garbage State of Play. A couple cool looking indies, but otherwise a bunch of stuff we already knew about or more multiplayer and/or Soulslikes. Yay.

What a wasted generation. Everyone just looking for their own live service, soulslike, remasters, or gacha-inspired bull. Of course there are good things within each of those categories, but I can't believe how plain and samesy most of it has been.

I liked what I saw from the Arthurian game and I'll definitely play Shinobi, but that was all I got up for.

Finally finished Ghost of Tsushima (excellent, excellent game) and while I'm still motivated for some open world fun for once, I decided to give Star Wars Outlaws a go. The gunplay is pretty lame, and I think Ghost of Tsushima nailed the stealth stuff better than Outlaws, but the stealth is fun enough and it's Star Wars, so the pet sidekick thing is adorable as all heck, the different planets are cool, and I can lose a **** ton of time just playing Sabacc (Star Wars card game) in the various cantinas. The decision-making stuff that impacts how different gang factions treat you is pretty cool too. The game is a lot better than it gets credit for in my opinion; it's not an elite game or anything but if you like Star Wars and like stealth games, I think you'd probably enjoy it.

Returnal is my favorite PS5 game so Saros had me extremely **** hyped. I've been waiting for Housemarque's next game and the successor to Returnal, think this is gonna be incredible.

Big Civ guy, but refuse to pay $70 for a game with DLC planned in the first month. I'll buy it come Black Friday when it's $40 and includes the DLC. That said, I'm very interested in 7.

I'm probably close to 20 hours into KCD2 and I've done literally nothing to advance the story. No main missions, no side missions. Just leveled up a ton of stats, brewed a couple hundred potions, stole a bunch of stuff I don't know what to do with. Have yet to try combat. I don't even know how to use a weapon. This game is an OCD gamer's dream.

Avowed reviews seem a little all over, but skewing more toward great. I'm seeing several 'makes the wait for the next ES feel shorter' lines, which is heartening. Sounds like there may be some shallow systems, and magic (incredible) and ranged (great) far outshine melee.

I'm planning to wait. I want to really spend time with it when I play, and just can't right now with KCD2, upcoming POE. TBD where Wilds fits in. After a lull, what a busy month.

Finally sat down to Factorio - Space Age.

What a wonderful upgrade to an already near-perfect sim game. Absolutely incredible and I mostly have no idea what I'm doing.

The QOL upgrades alone turn 1.0 into an entirely different game when building at scale.

I've got tomorrow off. An Elden Ring network test from 5:00 am to 8 am tomorrow morning is really gonna test how bad I want it.

Well it certainly puts the stress in stress test.

I can see the potential of Nightreign. It's very fast, I like the mobility, and the classes are cool. I don't know how well it's going to work playing with randos on mute. Staying and working together was a nightmare. As opposed to Fortnight where it's pretty seamless to play in groups, and Nioh where three player co-op is so good I can't ever play solo again, Nightreign was really rough as a multiplayer.

It was also incredibly hard. Like much harder than base game Elden Ring. Characters have so little health and yet you're essentially forced to take on as many mobs and bosses as you can in ten minute chunks. Bosses were one-shotting me. I died so many times.

I don't know how the game is going to evolve and what the meta will be. I don't know if playing co-op with randos will eventually get better. It's just really hard to know where this game ends up.

Boy did I struggle with the first 7 hours of KCD2...in a good way. Finally got further along where I'm actually earning groschen and can afford to buy stuff and can craft my own things. Now I feel like it's picking up steam and I can tell I'm going to soak a lot of hours into it.

Very slow paced game, combat is clunky (or I just suck), and the story seems deep. Having to make sure I ate, washed up, slept, all in order to survive was new to me but I like it. So much to do, so much dialogue which I love, just a really nice game I wasn't expecting after not playing the first. So far it's worth the money and I'd imagine it only gets better.

Quick tip. If you're doing the Jaunt mission for the blacksmith (it's one of the first main missions before the wedding), be sure to do everything as it comes. I took my time, went off and did other stuff, and subsequently got locked out. A lot of people seem to have made that mistake.

You might already be passed it, but I've been going off and doing my own thing for the first 15-20 hours.

For Whom The Bell Tolls is a super complex quest. It's really cool, but it could test your patience (no spoilers) with how many options there are and how little you're given. All to say - don't feel too bad looking up some help. Also happy to share what I did if anyone struggles with it, lmk.

I'm still having a blast with KCD2, but man I'm awful at the combat. Need to watch some tutorials on being better.

The other thing, is some of the missions just drag on way longer than needed lol. Just did the one with the Cumans where we got hammered, the mission, which was 90% dialogue, took like 30 minutes and I think all I did was walk a bit and talk.

Make sure you go to the arena in that same camp, if you haven't already. You'll learn some combos - it'll still be hard, but they helped me a ton. You can also fight that guy endlessly for experience gain.

I enjoyed the Cumans quest but I get it for sure. The quest you get in that camp (finding the leader's daughter) is that x100 lol.
