Didn't watch a single second of it and judging by the comments here, I'm glad I didn't watch.

Really, they should just cut the BS and go back to the original format. That's the only hope for the NBA if they want to save the all-star weekend.

I’d rather watch paint dry on the wall than this

Besides football ( your soccer ) doesn’t have an All Star game or weekend or any of this shiт , good try

It seems like all the NBA players lost the meaning and having pride in being selected and playing in an All-star game, because now we have this corny format instead of the East vs West. Players are not playing for pride for themselves, conference and the league.

I don't even know what channels it was on. Thank God. Sounds like it was a crap show. I had stop watching for the last 5 years now. Maybe if the rest of you would do the same, they might cancel it soon.

Do you agree with his take?

he's not wrong but silver is not totally to blame,, and I don't like silver.

the problem is the elephant in the room. everyone knows it but everyone is over thinking the solution to where you don't see the elephant..... THE PLAYERS DON'T CARE.

Imagine if all the players CARED. the problem disappears

this is 95% on the players and 5% on silver for not finding a solution. how do you not find a solution when you have the #1 social media sports product in america

THIS IS SILVER'S 11YEAR

Guy negotiated best TV deal possible while "ratings are down". He is for sure not the worst person for the job. Imagine having Nico Harrisson as commissioner? He would trade Celtics for Panathenaikos

Stars are responsible for this. No1 wants to lose, to get embarassed. Everyone is scared of injuries. Its social media era, and its easier to do nothing then to try and fail...sadly

Perhaps you have shared elsewhere, but how do you propose motivating the players to "care" about the all-star game or regular season games?

Rob Parker is a fool but the product we all love indeed took a significant nose dive in quality as soon as Silver took over. It's no coincidence, he's been terrible. Those still on the fence will fully agree within 3 years after he adds a trampolines to the game and decides to extend the rim from 10 feet to 11 feet just because.

my point was to state the obvious, which somehow has been buried with everyone inputting ideas to make the asg interesting. it's not my job to fix it. the players make too much money to care

if the players don't care anymore, it's irreversible. if the players don't care then at least make it fun to participate and that might assuage the apathy.

first thing is TOSS THE GAME. the players play 82 48minute games as it is. they don't need to play another
so,,,,,

1...48 all stars that comprise 16 3man teams. the 48 players covers everyone who's anyone
2...the games goal is whatever point total you want
3...the key will be how the teams are chosen. my idea is that the teams are random - like ping pong ball random. that way you get sometime weird sometimes interesting teams. you might get a team of bigs, or a teams of 3pt shooters, or a team of defensive players, or any random mix in between,,,,who knows. like what if lebron/tatum/banchero plays davis/jokic/kp or sga/luka/kyrie. you know,,,something weird like that. how would bigs fare against shooters

set up four half courts with games going on all at once. over two days

I don't watch them anymore. Been watching ball since 05, started skipping some if not all of ASG around 2021. It's for kids not grown adults.

I'm going to sound like a old man here but they just need to take it back to how it was 20 or so years ago and keep it simple.

- Normal color court, and lights on in the crowd! It's cool to see all the fans and their reactions during games/events rather than a sea of darkness
- Rookie vs Sophomore game - this format always felt competitive as the rookies felt like they had something to prove and the sophomores didn't want to get beat by a bunch of rooks
- Take out the stupid Starry balls from the 3 point contest
- Try and incentivize stars/the best dunkers to join the dunk contest - would take a sizeable cash prize presumably
- Each judge gives a score out of 10 which are all added together, rather than out of 50 and averaged like they do now - much cleaner and simpler
- Players shouldn't get 40 out of 50 for not even completing a dunk (looking at you Buzelis)
- ASG back to East vs West with a sizeable cash prize for the winning team to encourage competition
- No Kevin Hart

Silver has turned All Star weekend into this gimmicky, low effort, low entertainment value mess. Time to return to basics.

My 6 year old and his friends loved it.
Remember we are all die hard NBA fans here.

The ASW is aimed at kids isn't it? Our kids and their friends enjoyed it. Tyler Herro was well received. The only thing that confused them was Wemby and CP3 not following the rules in the skills contest. But I educated them on how Chris Paul is a little $&#^ and always has been.
Jokes aside, even my 2 year old twins and 4 year old daughter watched parts of the 3 point and dunk contests as we have basketballs hoops everywhere inside and outside and every Celtics game is played on our main TV.
Anyway, this weekend isn't geared for us. It's for the other NBA fans.
One day Marcus Smart will be defensive player of the year, mark my words.

I’m good with this. I haven’t watched the all star weekend in some years now. And I’ve been a huge NBA fan for a LONG time. But yea the all star weekend just feels like players out there chilling and a bunch of random no names in slam dunk contest
