He needs to go before you lose him for nothing but a comp pick.
If he doesn’t go, he’s the starting 2B until they find a trade partner..lol

Re: bo bichette
Bo doesn't have much value right now anyway given his play and the massive increase in offensive value from the SS position the last few years. It might be best to hold on to him, hope he has a good start and you can get more at the deadline.
Vlad is coming off a peak year, so there is a risk that his play goes down. Bo is on the other side he needs to restore his value, so holding him to try to restore value by the deadline makes more sense
Of course if you hold on to the deadline hoping that he restores his value, you run in to the same risk as with Vlad. If you are sort of hanging around at the deadline, you don't trade them, and then you fade and miss playoffs.

Re: bo bichette
Its very odd they haven’t even mentioned extending him yet to see what it was going to take. Are the two close enough that snubbing Bo could affect Vladdy’s decision?

Is he next to be extended to a massive overpay?

Re: bo bichette
If anyone thinks vladdy was getting less than 36M AAV in FA, they are kidding themselves.
The only question with Bichette is how well will his leg hold up over the 6 month marathon. Until he got hurt, he was a shoe in for an .800+ OPS. I like how much he was pulling the ball in ST. Right now him and Vlad are just getting a little too big and just missing when they see the pitch they want. On the plus side though, he has looked great at SS again like he did the last time he was healthy. If the Jays dont extend him, he is going to get paid in the off season.
I think they need to sign him almost as much as they needed to sign Vladdy. But whats a good deal for a SS going into his age 28 season now? Does Springer type money, ie 200M over 7-8 years, get it done?
They need to add to their top 4-5 hitters next year to get better, and that gets a lot harder if you lose one of them.
I still think Bichette should hit 3rd or 4th instead of 1st. He’s an RBI guy, not a steal bases and score a bunch of runs guy.
