NBA and NBC have discussed starting the game at 5 PM Eastern as opposed to its traditional start after 8 PM Eastern. NBC will also be televising the 2026 Olympics from Milan that weekend, but its coverage that day will long be over even with the earlier start.
The NBA has floated the idea of a one-on-one tournament, while some stars are discussing joining the Slam Dunk Contest next year. Ja Morant posted on X during Saturday's contest that he might want to participate.
