Guys,

should you require to trade one star what would be your preference list. Mine:

Bane (go first)
Ja
JJJ

I think JJJ’s skillset is the most unique. Ja is too vulnerable to changes in the NBA policy on what physical contact should constitute a foul. My problem with Bane is his size - which will always be his limit.

Guess it really depends on the star coming in. JJJ is clearly our best overall player but he cannot be a 1st option. Bane fits the best with just about anyone but you can build a D around him like JJJ and he cannot be #1 option like Ja.

If we are getting an offensive engine #1 guy in trade then I wouldn't mind Ja going out if he is carrying most of the value in the trade. If we are bringing in more of a 2/3rd offensive guy then the answer would be Bane.

JA/Bane co-1st
JJJ - don't trade unless he demands out or something.

I like Ja but his play style may not age well as the injuries continue to mount. I just have my doubts that his trade value currently is close to his on court value, so that might drive our decision making.

Yeah my order is the same in a vacuum but really it would depend on who is coming in and who I need to keep to best build around them.

That report on Ja potentially being available this summer is BS and stirring up trouble.

I would not be surprised if he is moved this summer. I don’t see many signs that FO intends to build the team around him. They might feel hesitant to give both Ja and JJJ supermax contracts, understandably so.

That's the part that's annoying. We get the trade of Luka was very shocking. How it came to fruition was very more shocking. This talk about "watching for a Ja movement" felt like a game of darts the executives played recently at the office and just threw a dart at a face of an premier player in the league. I guess the proverbial dart landed on Ja. Anyway, GM Kleinman cleared things up and was emphatic about the Grizzlies keep Ja and the do starve the story of it's oxygen to kill the fantasy notion at it's origin.

That said, if there truly any big names to really keep an eye on this upcoming offseason, it will be Suns SF Kevin Durant, Bucks PF Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Hawks PG Trae Young.

I think that there's a nonzero chance that Ja is disgruntled to some degree right now, but, with that said, I doubt Howard Beck had some inside track to know of it as a basis for his "story"

We have two projected top 11 picks this draft, all future picks are owned as well as Denver’s 2025 first round pick. Players of worth would be Suggs, Cole, Wendell Carter, Bol

2 years later, but let’s go!!!!

Hahahaha big props for identifying the Bane to Orlando move so early. I think Bane is going to be awesome with you guys.

Spurs fan here.

If you're figuring on Aldama leaving, what would you be looking for in an S&T scenario?

Interesting items would be some cap relief, future 1st, Sochan. Not necessarily together. I am not sure what the Spurs is willing to offer.

I think our current plan is find a way to get off Clarke and keep Aldama. However if Aldama gets a big contract will likely won't match, 20m+. Only team that can offer more than MLE is the Nets and maybe Det if they renounce some FAs. So if Nets don't want him he is likely staying here since we easily match a MLE offer. Unless someone offers us something we rather have than him in a SNT.

Regarding the Spurs, Sochan/filler would be the only thing of interest that y'all might put on the table. I think we would have no interest in Barnes or Johnson unless good draft capitol was coming our way.

I wouldn't take my opinion as gospel; the Spurs FO doesn't always do stuff that I agree with. That said, I figure you guys have a hole at 2/3 with Bane gone (and are 4 FRP's to the good ...).
Vassel for Aladama S&T + draft compensation

Do you think the return for Vassel is the gap between him and KCP?

No, you'll still have KCP after this deal, to do with as you will. So KCP's value has little relevance to what Vassel's value is.

I figure Bane got you 3 FRP's, and 1 more FRP and a swap for eating KCP's contract. (Anthony was filler). I figure Vassell is worth less than Bane, so a FRP + the Aldama S&T.

My point is that for Memphis the upgrade from KCP to Vassel does not worth the price of Aldama and picks.

Really,
1) that's pick, singular and
2) Isn't that you up above,

saying Aldama will be off to Detroit or Brooklyn (presumably for nothing, as they have cap space to offer him more than the MLE). Is something better than nothing?

The info you referred to is obsolete. It is Cole who is is going to be dumped to extend JJJ. Aldama will return the value or get extended. So what value Aldama will return? Meaning, what draft assets you want MEM to attach to him in a swap for Vassel?
