Something weltman would never do, that involves too much phone calls... He'd rather let teams call him

I suspect he would pick up the phone for some sweet, sweet cash considerations.

I don't know any of these players.

I just know that we need to appease Franz and draft his other brother Boogie Fland

Dylan Harper would be the perfect pick. His size and game are similar to Cade's. He's Ron Harper's son.

I project the Magic will draft 18 and 26.

In that range, Kon Knueppel would be an interesting target up top. And a developed scoring-guard down-low (if the pick is kept). Chaz Lanier could be good, as the Magic will need a 3rd-string PG that can develop to a backup level player.

With Suggs not ready to go, we could lose the next 4 of 5. We'd be 5 games under 500 with 21 games left. I would be on the tank team at that point.

The team has failed on getting players' game ready after injuries. I think they kept players out much longer than they should’ve after injuries and limited them from keeping in shape.

I would like Kon if he slips to their range.

On the keeping the pick matter, I was looking at the last 3 or 4 years of draft day trades and there is usually only 1-2 trades a year of a 1st for a vet. So realistically the odds that one of these picks get moved don't look super high unless serious framework was laid at the deadline.

They also could trade the Nuggets pick for future picks/swaps, those kind of trades are much more common on draft day. My hope is they do want two rookies, but I would not mind trading the Nuggets pick for help and then moving up in the 2nd with our two picks and a future 2nd if needed.

Agreed.

I would want one of the FRP to be a young raw potential 6'10 barefoot guy we can develop. The other FRP/SRPS to be packaged with Dell for a ready to contribute big guy.

The Celtics will eventually make cost saving moves to get out of the second apron. Would you take Porzingis?

I thought you wanted to stay away from injury-prone guys. Isn't KP even more injury prone than WCJ?

I do indeed, but Porzingis would be such a good fit

We got room for, maybe, one more expensive guy and it NEEDS to be in the backcourt, imo. KP is way too much for way too many missed games. Good for BOS - he was the final piece for a ring...but in a Walton-like way. They knew he'd miss months at a time, but hoped he'd be there when it mattered...and it worked.

The PG from Illinois, Kasparas Jakucionis, should be interesting. Dude is 6'6 and only a freshman. He also plays PG, averaging 4.8 assists per game.

My vote is to trade up for the Magic. There are a lot of top talents on top of the draft board.

Everyone knows Magic needs a PG and someone who can shoot 3s well. Well, this dude is a top 5 pick.

We can trade two of our FRPs plus more assets to move up and grab him, making him the young core along Franz, Paolo and Suggs. He will be on Rookie contract. So our cap should be good.

Anyway, if we indeed have two FRPs outside lottery, adding some piece and move up won't be that bad. My opinion

Guys like him are why I want an early 2nd. I think the 1st half of the 2nd round this year is going to have a couple of big time gems. I would not be surprised to see him sneak into the back of the 1st though. Also wonder if he transfers to a bigger school and tries to raise his stock if he gets the feeling he will only be a 2nd rounder.

Well good thing jak isnt a top 5 pick.

Cooper
Harper
Bailey
Tre
VJ

Although its just my opinion.

Jak might be on the 6-10 range.. dunno if 1 mid and 1 late FRP is enough to be in that range

Everyone knows our front office doesn't trade up in the draft!

Also I don't see this current Front Office trading Anthony Black because they don't think he's progressing the way he should, that would be admitting failure.

2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2023 are looking like failed drafts for this current management. Don't even get me started on the missed opportunities in the 2nd round lol.

I surely hope we shake up the management personell this off season to sell fans on a better opportunity moving forward!
