They had Durant at the 5, Bruce Brown at the 4, Dragic at the 3, Kyrie at the 2, and Seth at the 1. Then we wonder why they got swept.

My gut feeling is that the Nets could be a dark horse team to trade for Giannis.

The Nets have a stockpile of draft picks and could potentially acquire even more (i.e trading Claxton and Thomas), along with the necessary salaries or cap space to make a deal work. Pairing Giannis with a young talent like Ace Bailey or Cooper Flagg would make for an exciting core and elevate the team to be a contender.

Funny enough I wandered over here to share a similar sentiment. Not specifically Giannis but they're in prime position to make a superstar trade with the biggest warchest of tradeable picks and like you said the necessary salaries to make things work. Interesting to see if they'll try to tank this year and use their capspace/assets to make a giant move in the offseason or if they'll attempt something this season if superstars start to get unhappy with their situations.

I was watching pre-season since first time in a while and I checked on you 'cause I've been keeping an eye on my homie Jordi Fernández from long.

I always knew this guy has some fetish for full court press defense.
Didn't expect to spot it that soon.

Sooner impossible in fact

Agreed, but I think that plays out after the '25 draft & free agency. I'm not sure it's Giannis, though Marks does not shy away from aging stars. If they can hit on a top pick, say they land Flagg or Bailey, they head into the offseason with a ton of cap space & future picks. They can sign a supporting player or two (Ingram, Randle, Turner, Butler) & then go trade for a star & be very competitive. Personally, I'd prefer that they target RFAs or younger FAs & give themselves a longer runway, but Brooklyn loves chasing stars.

Is DEN pick not protected? If it is protected NO WAY. If it is not, it is still DEN and they just won a title so unless it will be better than the 12th or so pick it might not make much sense.

A first for Schroder is more than enough, whether its' 16 or in the 20s. I would jump on that deal. We'll have 5 picks in this draft so we can always move up draft spots or trade a pick for a 1st next year draft etc..

Probably not now at that price. Possibly at the deadline. He's the Nets only real PG right now, and while they're willing to tank, I don't think they're ready for such a long stretch of awful ball and bad habit development for 2 2nds.
