where does this put us in terms of the tax? any impact? if this was three weeks ago, would it impacted us getting under the second apron and changed our deadline moves (besides also knowing we had a big man hole)

Your disdain for BP is counteracted by his being one of my favorite Bucks to watch. He plays with such passion and joy that's it's hard for me not to love watching him.

I would 100% believe that it was an honest mistake after reading the PBT writeup where they literally mis-spelled it multiple times in the article:

Milwaukee Bucks backup center and fan favorite Bobby Portis has been suspended 25 games by the NBA for violating the NBA’s Anti-Drug Program by testing positive for Tramadol, the league announced.

Tamoral is an opioid pain killer with a potential for addiction that was banned by sports leagues globally within the last year after studies funded by the World Anti-Doping Agency showed the potential for Tramadol to enhance sports performance.

Portis called the error an “honest mistake,” with his agent adding the 30-year-old thought he was taking Toradol — an approved pain/anti-inflammatory medication — that was given to him by one of his assistants.

**** this league and their archaic/tone deaf "substance-abuse" protocols. Another thing that the clown commissioner won't fix because he's too busy gaming up changes for the next All-Star Game 12-months out.

The haters have needed something like this after BP has been playing so well.

Can’t the team fight this now? The suspension seems awfully harsh for something this ridiculous. 2 drugs that are basically the same thing with damn near the exact name and 1s legal and 1s not? You’re allowed to smoke weed now until you forget your name for “medicinal” purposes but this is worth a 25 game suspension? Fight that **** and at least try to get it rescinded or a lesser penalty. I’ll be disappointed if the team just eats this.

You're being such a baby to keep calling everyone "haters", even those who were one of his biggest defenders the first few years. So sensitive on his behalf. Here even a considerable part of the argument is he was going to leave so get something for him. And this event, being a bonehead, to be unreliable again, didn't help his case. But you're disingenuously trying to obscure that.

Speaking of which, if you're calling for people being banned, you definitely should for highlighting single game net rating for Kuzma, but dismissing it for a few years up until recently for Bobby. Also for claiming people should be banned for proposing the acquisition of Kuzma (a useful player for us so far), not even for Middleton. Yet again highlights your hypocrisy & immaturity.

So, reading between the lines here (and trying to be charitable to Bobby), it sounds like his assistant was responsible for holding onto his meds, and his assistant inexplicably mixed his personal prescription for Tramadol with Bobby's prescription for Toradol. So when Bobby asked for a pill, his assistant carelessly grabbed the wrong pill. And Bobby just happened to get tested soon after ingesting that pill, which only had a half-life of around 6-8 hours from what I've read online.

There's lots wrong here - the assistant inexplicably mixing his meds with Bobby's, being an idiot and not knowing the difference, Bobby even trusting his meds to someone else to begin with, etc. And that's, of course, if you believe a Bobby's version of events.

In any event, it's a big blow to be without a key backup big for the next 25 games for something this stupid.

Tramadol is pretty weak to be getting 25 games for. I take those for headaches sometimes. If anything, they make you more tired. I guess they help some with stress anxiety too, so maybe he was taking them to take the edge off with the death of his grandma.. Or a headache... Who the heck knows?

Oooo... we'll be fast again... does this free money so we can sign a better buyout dude?

Now the roster is almost Doc proof... can we use this as a loophole to void some of his contract and buy him out? Maybe he shared some opioids with Pat C

'Paging Tyler Smith, we need you bro.'

The BP hate (yes, I'll stick with it) has been so over the top in game threads, as to have earned that moniker. As to Kuzma, I have pretty well documented his lack of efficiency, which concerns me, but I have no idea what you're talking about in terms of the other claims.

I have criticized plus/minus arguments forever, so I have thrown it out there recently in regards to players the haters like, to show how meaningless that stat is.

All of the "hater" stuff I throw out is having fun within the Board.

As to BP, I proposed some trades for him, but only ones that were commensurate with what I think his value is. Some of the proposals on this Board were basically giving away the Bucks second best rebounder and third best scorer. And some (the real haters) wanted to bench him or cut him and referred to his rebounds as "fake" rebounds.

We saw how not having BP affected the Bucks when he was out. There were at least a couple games that would have been in the W column if he was playing.

I wonder how this impacts his market in the offseason, should he decline his player option. Really should have traded him, though. Horst waits too long every time.

I do think BP needs to take responsibility for this and the statement by his agent seems to do that.

However, those on here who criticize the league are on the mark. Prioritizing this robotic adherence to rules, without any common sense is absurd, especially when compared to the severity of how they treat domestic abuse.

Giannis MPG this season (34.9) are down a bit from last season (35.2). But last season Doc abused him in March (37.2) and he got hurt. He did the same with Dame (37.4 MPG in March) and Dame got hurt. I don't care if we're short handed, Giannis MPG CANNOT GO UP the remainder of the season.

You can't trust Doc to not just ride his horses and use situational players at the appropriate times. He largely has his set rotation and it takes a lot to change that. He keeps playing Ajax in the starting lineup, against what the eye and lineup data says.

He clearly has a preconception of Jericho Sims. And there's truth in that he's a limited player. But at times we need mobility or rebounding in the frontcourt. So he could be used in lineups w/out Brook or Giannis. In NY, his data when not playing w/ another poor shooter in Hart, was good. 3 out of the 4 most used lineups for Sims in NY were: +22.1, +15.9, +15.4. I thought Bobby was one of the combos w/ him that could work, unfortunately. But Sims-Kuz-Prince-Trent/Green-KPJ/Dame could work well too, against bench units & bad teams. Does Doc have the flexibility to utilize that when Giannis &/or Dame are inactive/off? I doubt it.
